Modified Red Classic, STI box, Lots of Nice Mods

*Edited* More pics now added, all bits available now!

Due to purchase of a new car I am regrettably having to break my lovely '96 UK classic saloon. The only reason for breaking is that I feel I can recoup more from this than just selling as a whole, given the current market.

Details of the car, it is a 96 UK turbo 2000 in 559 red. The car has been meticulously maintained by Thwaites Developments for the last 4 years or so that I have owned it.
Still going strong at 117k on the original 2.0 turbo engine, it is a testament to how regular oil changes and general TLC can prolong these engines.
The engine is not knocking and all I have had to change is the common rocker cover gaskets.
The shell is 100% straight and has never had so much as a bump.

Right then there’s the history, now here’s the list of parts available (essentially the whole car minus bits I’m keeping back to use on my new car):
Exterior
  • 17” BK299 Alloys in custom gloss black and red lip. These come with Toyo T1R’s, all with lots of tread left (would say around 6mm on every tyre – all evenly worn. Tyres alone cost over £400 when new. These were originally gold but I had them repainted (not powder coated) about 8 months ago. Good condition all around. £350ono

    http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...oobPics015.jpg
    http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...oobPics016.jpg
  • Black anodised ‘tuner’ wheel nuts for above alloys including black locking wheel nuts of same style. £25ono or free with BK299s if wheels purchased at full price
  • Generic 5 stud wheel spacers – will measure thickness but I think they were 7mm. £15ono
  • Suspension; uprated struts complete with adjustable camber bolts and Eibach 30mm lowering springs. Firm but handles brilliantly with these. £140
  • Complete rolling shell as straight as they come inclusive of doors, suspension, rear brakes, arches, glass, mirrors, etc. But minus all lights, bumpers, spoiler, engine, drivetrain, brakes, exhaust and some interior bits. The only tiny bits of rust visible are on one rear arch(only just started to show) and on the edge of the sunroof. Rolling shell includes 16” Subaru alloys in silver as standard on UK classic turbo 2000’s which clear 4 pots and are in good condition, straight without any major kerbing. Has tyres but 2 are pretty much gone, the other two have a fair bit left in them. MOT until 24th Oct and complete with V5 and a folder full of receipts. - £500 ovno
[SIZE=3]Engine Bay
  • V1-2 (93-96) Apexi Power FC and mint hand-controller with mount. The best value for money ecu for the classic shape. This ECU has been mapped by Mark at Thwaites Developments (TDRacing). £450 ono - sold to 'yabbadoo4'
  • Fully functional Turbo 2000 long engine. At 117k, completely original but uses little oil and had cambelt changed at 104k. Mobil 15W50 refreshed every 5k. Includes red inlet manifold and all ancillaries including MAF. Minus power steering pump, injectors, intercooler, coilpacks. £400 - sold
    http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...oobPics008.jpg
  • STI 5 speed close ratio gearbox (shortshift) with prop and matching 4.44 rear diff. Gearbox code TY752VBCAA. This box was purchased from Adge Speed with ~50k miles on it and fitted by Thwaites Developments just over a year ago at 109k. It performs beautifully, never crunches or drops out of gear. This box is the perfect balance between the UK box and the RA box. £450ono
  • Exedy clutch kit and release bearing. Fitted in 2008 at 102k it’s had a very easy life. Loads of meat left on it. £60ono
  • Thwaites Developments 8kg Lightened Flywheel. So much better than standard, one of my best mods! Fitted in 2009 at 105k so again seen little use. £80ono
  • Front strut brace. Was pink with silver brace but I sprayed the ends black. £25ono
    http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...oobPics018.jpg
  • Custom CDF battery clamp with black anodised metal with ‘Turbo 2000’ enscribed. £15ono
    http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...oobPics017.jpg
  • Facelift metal power steering pump with modified lines to fit onto early classic. £40ono
    http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...oobPics009.jpg
  • K&N induction kit for early classics. Best kit available IMHO. Kept mint as cleaned and oiled with K&N products regularly. £40ono
    http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...oobPics007.jpg
  • Battery for classic, less than a year old and works perfectly well. £20ono
  • Subaru 3 port boost control solenoid. £30ono
Interior
  • Steering wheel and boss. Leather with stainless steel centre and sti logo horn. £35ono
  • [SIZE=3][FONT=Calibri]Rear Pioneer speakers 16cm with custom mdf mounts. Both perfect working order and much clearer than standard speakers. £20ono - sold to 'Benji554'
  • Pre-facelift dash, perfect condition. £25ono
All prices are minus postage (may not be possible for larger items). Payment possible via Paypal or cash on collection (preferred). Any inspection welcome (CV23 postcode) although no timewasters please.
Any other bits you want ask away.Pictures available upon request, most parts will be taken off upon sale.
Any questions please ask away.

be interested in the headers, how much porting have they had??

would need postage too, hate living in cornwall sometimes :(

averyp2 01 September 2011 08:47 AM

They were quite well ported as Mark at TDR in Warwick ported and flow matched the heads and manifold. I will take pics once off the car - i'm hoping to get the engine and box out in the next few days, then i can start stripping it properly in storage.
Would be able to post at cost (recorded/insured) to Cornwall if you were happy with pics.
Thanks
Paul

Any pics of the grill and any broken clips ?

averyp2 01 September 2011 01:43 PM

Clutch is an Exedy item, not the organic version. Clutch was never driven in anger and had loads on meat left in the clutch plate when last inspected around 6 months ago (must have done 500miles since then).

Will sort some pics of the grill and clutch as well as the items requested via pm's asap

Engine coming out on Tuesday, had offers on the injectors but if you want them at asking price (which is very cheap) I'll reserve for you mate

Benji554 02 September 2011 09:13 PM

Do the rear shelf speakers sit flush or are they proud? I'm looking for a discreet/flush set I've still got the original Carzorria ones that a lot of imports come with, they look chavtastic! Lol

averyp2 03 September 2011 03:40 PM

Pics now added, hope i've covered everything, engine&box pics to follow in the week when its out.

'Benji554' - the speakers sit flush below the shelf and i have the standard flat OEM speaker grilles in place on top of them so you wouldn't know they were different until you looked in the boot. (see pic added)
Regards
Paul
