What's are these? Are they Standard? [pics]

I've bought an Sti TMIC and it has a sensor on nit. Could anyone telll me if it's standard on STi, what it's for and if it's a SUBARU connection or something else i use to hook up?
I'm wanting to have a boost guage wired in so i'm hopeing this is the simple answer.

Also, this is my downpipe coming from the turbo. I thought the car was totally standard but this doesn't look standard to me:

Is it normally catted?

This is my car, a 99 UK Wagon Turbo:

Looks like its been fitted by somebody, possibly a temperature sensor?

TinyTim 30 August 2011 02:31 PM

As above, probably a temp sender for an air charge temp gauge.

rallyman1970 30 August 2011 02:31 PM

it a bosch air temp sensor

LewisScoob 30 August 2011 02:46 PM

and yes, there should be a cat in that downpipe if its supposed to be std.

alex_00s 30 August 2011 03:22 PM

Yep, air temp sensor

Turbotits 30 August 2011 03:46 PM

As above looks like an air temp sensor for a simtek ecu

Thanks a lot.
Any idea what guage I can connect to this. Can i connect a guage from any manufacturer or must it be bosh?

If your wanting to wire up a boost gauge then simply run it from inside the car and use the port next to your recirculing vacume hose in the picture ,to the left of your coil pack.It has a plastic cover on as std ,pull it off and run your hose to that.
As said above an air temp sensor and you should be able to use any universal gauge if you should want to monitor your intake temps.Just because it is fitted does not mean you have to use it - its entirely up to you.
