Its Not A Subaru...My New Car
I have onwed this for about 3 weeks,
surprising how different it is compared to a subaru like power delivery handling... its 2004 FQ-340 MR with a few mods 405 bhp Carbon Bonnet,FQ-400 Mirrors,Carbon Fins etc... https://i263.photobucket.com/albums/...811MC00003.jpg i will get some more pictures up :thumb: I know its not everyones cup of tea but its mine :) Oh and im still looking for a well spec'd impreza |
Nice! How's it different to a scoob then assuming you've owned one?
TX. |
just feel alot more built, my old subaru things used to rattle creek
like you knew what your driving and you have to rev these more than subaru's... it handles better than my old impreza... |
Very nice, I like these but in a different way to Subaru's. I've not driven a 7 onwards but the 6's I drove made Impreza's feel nose heavy and not as agile.
You expect the difference in build quality though give the build years of your old classic and this :) |
I agree,my last Evo I had for 5 years and it handled and changed direction so flat and planted.
My type R pulls harder but the Evo was still a little quicker through the gears because it had much less lag. I still miss it a bit. Nice motor by the way.:thumb: Danny. |
i love the look of the evo 8 and 9, if the hawk didnt take my fancy it wouldve been evo, shame mitshubishi want to walk away from the evo in its current form, hope theyve reconsidered
|
Looks very nice ;-)

Very nice, keep getting tempted by the X myself but whilst the exterior has moved on the interior is still very dated compared the the newest of Subarus. As above it's a shame Mitsi are not moving forward with the Evo anymore.

Ohh yes please sir that's a nice toy you have.
Evo's are nice cars looks good in silver mate enjoy... |
Looks tidy, but I always felt they went a bit soft looking from the VII onwards - the VI was always my fave:thumb:
|
I've used to own Evo 6.5 TME, Evo VII for few years and I've driven a numerous of III's, IV's, V's, VI's, VIII's and IX's.
Both cars have their advantages and it is funny how different these cars really are even though in paper they seem to be the same. I always find Evos more agile, better engine performance and they are easier to drive fast but i always think it feels a little toy- ish. I'm not a fan of the suspension and steering feel and response of the Evo. It just does not feel as solid as the Subaru feels. Evos have a superb owners club (MLR) and parts are so much easier to get and the support is great. I like the Subaru since it has the longitudally mounted engine and transmission layout. It makes the steering wheel input more sharper. I also like the "mechanical"- feel or driving what the Subaru offers compared to the computer-aided feel in the Evo. Subaru does not have such as good community support and club what the Evos have. Driving wise, I always find it harder to feel the limits of the Evos. Especially in the rain and snow/ice. Great cars and both have advantages, but I think I'm a little leaned towards the Subaru. Although I will get a CT9A (VII-IX) RS some time and write a new reviews from the Evo with mechanical differentials (front and rear) coupled with a active center differential. |
looking good

Nice evo, different beast than the Subaru....in a good way:thumb:

Very nice mate

Very nice
|
That's really nice!
I have a part of me that has always wanted to own an Evo but I can't help thinking they appear to require a little bit more attention than Impreza's which makes it hard to justify getting one. What's the deal when people say, it needs oil changed after 3k miles etc. I have a feeling they drink a bit more petrol than Impreza's also. I think the major thing I'd miss about changing to an Evo is the burble. I'm sure an Evo doesn't sound to dissapointing but it just can't sound as good as an Impreza with the foot on the floor. |
its defo likes the drink, bit greedy i willget some more pictures up
it was standard power etc before i got it as i wanted a MINT one aswell there's a lot of crap about its got full ralliart history and 1 prev owner |
Looks lovely mate, I had a drive of my mates Evo VII which was tuned to 360bhp and was very impressed though didn't think much of the small speedo :wonder:
