WRX Brakes

Have a 07 hawkeye and found out the brakes sux the hard way, is it enough to say get the grooved discs and kevlar pads (godspeed) will be enough for road use with upto 280bhp (stage1 map etc)

yes they will be fine with that power and useage

You would say that lol thanks Ian im just worried that £250 later im not going to notice much difference. Did the same on my skyline £600 later the brakes were still pap and ended up going down the K sport path for £2k

Also was being told of a bias mod to the subaru that offers better braking and the garage said they could do it for £40...make sence to anyone or had it done?

Upgrade to brembos I'd suggest. that's what I did on my 06 wrx. uprated all my wrx discs to 40 grooved discs, ebc pads, braided hoses & race fluid. was a good first stage upgrade. however, when I upgraded to 334bhp it was evident my upgrades were nowhere near good enough.

bought some second hand brembos and discs for £400, got some new fast road pads to suit. brakes are awesome now. just great. honestly you won't regret it.

also sold my old wrx brake setup complete for £200 in 1 day to a classic owner, so not really cost much to upgrade me to brembos.

brembos all the way for me. however, remember brembos will not fit underneath the standard hawkeye 17" wrx wheels. I already had 18" innovits so was lucky.

good luck. Andy

I found the Godspeed 335mm kit ideal on my 280bhp Hawk.
