boost cut at 1.0bar

my car normally runs at 0.7 bar but if i put it up to 1.0 bar boost on mbc it missis and cuts the boost as though the ecu is cutting the fuel as though there is to much boost, thought an sti could run at this boost all the time as my last one did any never had any problems.and taking the mbc of as i no there are crap was just trying it before i bought another avcr.could it be the plugs or something like that.any help.thanks ste

Sounds like fuel cut to me, I thought most jap cars cut the fuel at 1 bar of boost as a safety issue, iv had glanzas 1.3 turbo they did the same I alway set it a 0.9 till I changed the ecu to a blitz access ecu then never had the problem. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Are you getting a miss or a fuel cut? The fuel cut could happen at an apparent 1.0bar if your boost gauge is inaccurate.

Misses can be due to coil packs or plugs.

MBCs are not crap, they have their place if you understand what you're doing. They get a bad rep because since they are cheap, people put them on without doing any research and usually end up boosting more than is safe to do.

if i try and up the boost to 1.0 bar it feels like fuel cut as i put my foot down it cuts the boost, then the boost kicks in again but it does feel like fuel cut,it does not like going over standed boost even before it hits 1.0 bar, just thought it could be the plugs or something else.
