What would you tolerate against rioters

water cannon, tear gas, baton, steel toe-cap, etc etc.

If you are rioting then you should expect the police to use:
Rubber bullets
Tear gas
Water cannon
Tasers
Truncheon (asp? Cobra? Whatever the Billy bat is called these days)

If you are carrying and or threatening to use a fire arm then expect to be met in kind

These scum don't deserve civil responses to their actions. Meet them head on with full force

Army on the streets, curfew... anyone breaking the curfew or looting... bang bang you're dead.

Oh and to the ECHR - GFY!!!!

Not in favour of troops on the streets. Well, maybe a few well placed snipers. :p

They only water cannons in the British isles are in northern ireland.

They are not licensed to be used here or some health and safety rubbing along those lines

1st option but maybe not the live rounds, but the cops do need to get a grip, grow some & get going.

1) Lock up parent/parents of anyone caught who is under 18

2) Anyone found in possession of looted property is fined 20 x retail price of goods and gaoled if they can't pay. No excuses whatsoever accepted.

3) Could the Blackberry system be closed until it quietens down?

This. Problem with tear gas or rubber bullets is that someone is more likely to get really hurt. Que the media going mental over heavy handed tactics. The damage caused would be overshadowed by the media circus.

The amount of police on the streets during the riots is laughable. Should be wall to wall police, not a few standing around looking like they are about to get their heads kicked in.

Thats budget cuts for you - 20% less in six months time too....

Should get the army in to sort them out, the police would seem to be ineffective. Live rounds is a bit to extreme though :)
