FMIC - LOSS OF RIGIDITY?

Had my fmic fitted recently as the car is a track car, 03 STI, and the complete crossbar behind the bumper has to be removed. Will this cause loss of rigidity , I would guess so because its a big chunk of metal being taken away. Good for weight loss though.

I suppose you would loose some crash protection also. But everyone seems to do it, I'd be interested to hear what others think on this subject.

Some FMIC have bumper bar, which some FMIC will remove.
My friend crashed with FMIC few months ago and he damage just Radiator and bumper,he crashed at 30mph.

The size of crossbar I would think there wouldn't be much car left if I crashed at 30 mph. I'm sure I can actually feel the car twisting more, no doubt its in my head but maybe.

as the structure in front of the suspension turrets is basically "panel hanger" then you shoudln't have any issues apart from th afore mentioned crash structure...............

Jdm car has much smaller and lighter front bumper bar and this is no less rigid than a uk car, it is just to help with absorbing front end accident, just I presume if car used on road insurance must be aware of it's alteration
