The rear suspension makes a clonking noise when going over speed bumps. I've changed the rear roll bar bushes, but this hasn't cured the problem.

Anyone have an idea what it could be ?

PS If i pull the handbrake, it make a similar noise.

Has the rear suspension been off?
It could be the top mounts not aligned correctly (Common problem if the susspension has been apart).

I can't remember how you check it though. Give TSL or Scoobysport a call, they should be able to tell you:)

Hi there,
I get the same knocking sound from the rear left on my 2 week old Type NB-R WRX. NB-R is a Japan Domestic model WRX with STI suspension.

Removed seat, tools, jack, spare tyre and rear parcel shelf, but sound is still there. The sound is most obvious over sharp ridges.

Appears to that all reported cases of noise relate to the rear left. I wonder if that's a coincidence. After all, there are 4 dampers in a car and all should have the same probabilty of failing. Perhaps it's not the damper but something else.
