Help with boot release please
I have an MY05 STi
When I pull the boot release in the car the boot does not open. I therefore have to use the key to open the boot. (Thankfully the fuel cap works OK as I can't open that with a key) I have checked the cable fixing to the lever inside the car and it seems to be attatched OK .. and I've checked the cable at the boot lock end too ... and it appears to also be attached. So .. either I am blind ... or something else is up ... any suggestions .. including how I might be able to adjust the tension of the cable ? Thanks all. Chris |
Check out the over-ride lever on the boot catch.

I had this problem on my sti
Check the cable is not trapped or cable tied to anything else. Check from boot release to where it goes behind the back seat on drivers side. It should not be attached or behind anything. Mine had been cable tied to the rear light loom. I cut the tie and it started working again |
Ditto, lever on catch on boot lid should be in the 'down' position
|
Again, no doubt the little lever arm that allows remote release is in the "boot catch only" position... Just flick it to the other position.

Oh I do love simple inexpensive fixes ...
Thanks to everyone ... it was the liitle lever .. it was in the up position ... now all sorted ... :notworthy:notworthy |
