Maf sensor

Hiya guys, just thought I'd ask where the best places are to get a maf sensor from?
The car is a gc8 STI type R version 5 1999.

Today it took slightly longer than usual to start from cold. The idle is a bit random when cold, going between 800rpm and 1200rpm.

It's fine when it's warm by the way.

Thanks.

Danny.

Have you any fault codes? Sounds more like temperature sensor.

Mr moff 01 August 2011 12:11 AM

No mate there's no fault code to be found.
It's only done it the once.I let it get stone cold and started it up a few times since.

So you're thinking temp sensor then.
Do you know of a good place to order one online?
Is the temp sensor the one in that duct at the front attached to the slam panel?

I am referring to the coolant temperature sensor as with a cold engine the ECU will add extra fuel similar to pulling the choke on which reduces the airflow. To save time and money find out if you can get a diagnostic doine on the car. You may be able to connect two wires together under the dash to get the engine fault light flashing a code which you can put on here and someone will tell you what it means. Do a search for fault code reading on here saves going to the dealers to pay for a diagnostic.

Will do mate,I'll get it checked out tomorrow.
I'll post it up here if I get a code.

Thanks for the fast replies mate,it's much appreciated.

Danny.
