Poxy bugeye fuel lines

I had the dreaded fuel smell about 18 months ago so I changed the rubber pipes and all was fine.......for about 12 months. Changed them again about 6 months and once again all was fine.

Started the car this morning and get the poxy fuel smell again, check under the bonnet and sure enough there is a nice damp patch under the manifold!!

When i changed them last time i used some fuel inj hose and clamps from Camberley auto factors, Is there any specific kind I should be using? Am gutted that I need to do it again.

Has anyone else had to do this more than once on their car?

Would a parallel fuel mod sort the problem and if so is it easy enough to do?

Deano.

I'm quite surprised you are having to change them that often, what fuel line are you using?

there was a recall done for these pipes with new modified fuel pipes from dealers.

When was this mate? Could I still take mine even though I have done them myself before now?

whats you reg/vin number il check if you can still have it done mate. but i suppose it depends if the garage you take it to notices really. if they do you can still get the parts anyway. we had a bug in yday which we did this recall on so you might be in luck.

basically what you will have to do mate is take it to your local dealer have it inspected and they will have to submit a claim to I.M to see if they will do the job or not as its not strictly warranty more of a good will from I.M so its up to them in that respect. but like i said the pipes are available separately.

hi deano.
buy some tidy fuel injection pipe from these people, http://www.fuelsystem.co.uk/

then make sure you fit tidy hose clips, and tighten up correctly, should ave no worries then,
p.s.
better still while you do it convert it to parallel fuel rails,
hope this helps.
cheers scoobymike
