rsquire 30 March 2001 08:47 AM

Nah http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif

It's an American car..

They don't know how to calculate HP http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif

So that's why the US WRX has 227 BHP then? I saw an advert whilst in Boulder, CO last week that confused me...

...Mind you, I saw a lot of things that confused me. Like Twinkies - why???

TFyus 30 March 2001 08:51 AM

rich,

regardless of what figures they may come up with, any car that just lights up both rear wheels and PAINTS two black lines has good bhp. especially with wide wheels like that.

rsquire 30 March 2001 08:53 AM

Sorry http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

But that one is really true The Yankie WRX really is 227 bhp *whoops* and has a different torque map as well..

Check

rsquire 30 March 2001 08:55 AM

What scares me in that video is the way it kicks sideways when he's changing up http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif

Damn nearly ends up in the other lane

Richard

Scoob99 30 March 2001 08:58 AM

Your having a laugh.......the only HP the yanks know is......the Sauce.. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

rsquire 30 March 2001 09:00 AM

Hp Sauce Mmmmmm I use to dream of that http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif

Very few places around here that you can buy that.. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Blowdog.... Incomming!!!!!

That bloke needs to learn how to handle the car before he kills someone. He's almost into the oncoming traffic when lighting up the rears on a straight, and his donuts aren't quite up to the standards of Simon de Sideways. He's not even close. And Sideways is having to deal with four driven wheels, not two, in the canonical reference of Donuts in the 22B.

I hope Rich knew about that http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

I'm by no means a wonderful controller of a car, but there again my car doesn't try to dump me into another lane when I put my foot down.

On this subject, Tiff didn't appear quite as ragged on last week's topgear when driving the new Evo and Scoob. They must be flattering.

Deputy Dog 30 March 2001 09:48 AM

& The wider the wheel the EASIER it is to 'light em up'

"That bloke needs to learn how to handle the car before he kills someone."

yawn typical preach.

"He's almost into the oncoming traffic when lighting up the rears on a straight"

whatever

and his donuts aren't quite up to the standards of Simon de Sideways. He's not even close.

oh well, ill find anyone with the mpg and tell them to delete it

And Sideways is having to deal with four driven wheels, not two, in the canonical reference of Donuts in the 22B."

yeah im sure thats what sideways is. I have seen the 22b donoughts, very good.

The chap on this mpg does a good job of controlling his car, he is obviously show boating. but anyhows lets just decide its dangerous and not as good as a scooby.

mmm...

Sorry, it did come across as a preach. Wasn't meant to, believe it or not.

Still think he needs to learn how to use his car though. I'm not saying I'd be any better, but I'd make sure I did a better job before I published a video.

When I said "sideways", I meant Mr de Banke, not the technique.

Each to their own. I wouldn't get in a car with him. Wouldn't mind a go in the car on an airfield though, as it does look both fun and a challenge.

Looking at the filename, it isn't that bloke (not) from Popstars is it?

Best,

Nick.

chiark 30 March 2001 10:43 AM

...and back to one of your posts, I agree. Anything with that amount of power can't be all bad. And he smokes in front of a BMW, so he's gone up in my estimation http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Nick.

TFyus 30 March 2001 10:53 AM

nick, i withdraw my comments,

the guy is obviously just having a laugh for an mpg http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

it does have good power from what u can see and looks like it would be a right laugh to have a shot of, as u said on an airfield first!

Mmmmmmmmm !!!!

Is a scooby bonnet and gear box going to fit a motor like that, it could be fun !!!!!!

Nice car and very well prepared, anyone got BHP figers on it or knows were to get them ?

Darren.

Pete H 30 March 2001 02:56 PM

It's got an LT1 small-block Chevy (as in a Corvette), supercharged and stroked to 383ci/6.3l (I think) and it's got a six-speed Borg-Warner manual (as used in the Corvette). Supposedly has 600bhp. Looks like fun - there's also an mpeg of it racing the owner's R1 - see the "Darius" movies page at

dingy 30 March 2001 03:06 PM

Thing is most scoob owners couldn't handle 2wd....
