Toad Ai606 Remote Start Help Required if possible please

Please can someone assist me with a toad ai606 enquiry ?

I have remote start on the auxillary buttons on my key fob

( please no debates over remote start here folks as Im plain lazy and its cold here in scotland running out in your jammies on a cold winter morning to start your scooby. I have enough problem dragging myself out of bed in the morning as it is and every minute counts)

So anyway back to the problem in hand

Aux button 1 when held for a couple of seconds usually turns on the ignition

Aux button 1 & 2 when held then cranks the car

Aux button 1 again when held for a couple of seconds usually turns off the ignition

Now recently I have installed a new flocked dash board and while doing so I blew a 50 amp fuse. After much poking, prodding and testing, eventually I traced this to a faulty after market rear fog lamp switch which was going to ground and blowing the fuse.

Now the button 1 wont turn on the ignition, if I turn the ignition on manually with the keys, then press button 1 & 2 this cranks the car as it would normally.

So, In short, my button 1 is no longer switching on/off the ignition.
This leaves me with two possible outcomes.

1. I have knocked / disconnected / or made a mess off a wire somewhere

2. I have inadvertently somehow switched off function 1.

Does anybody have any idea how this would be wired up for this alarm or how to switch on/off function 1.

Any help would be appreciated, pm if necessary if any of this alarm information is "sensitive" as I have seen debates on other forums about not posting alarm diagrams for safety/theft reasons.

Many thanks in advance.
Cheers
A

Did you install it that way yourself?

It sounds like you have lost the feeds to the relays. I would start by checking there.

Hi mate, thanks for taking the time to reply

No, I never fitted it myself, got Barry from SafeNSound to do it and I have tried emailing him/contacting him via ebay without any response.

Can you point me in the right direction regarding the relays you mentioned.

Thanks for your help
Andy

yeh, i think that is the one Ian, found him on ebay ,he travelled to scotland and was a nice bloke from what i can remember.

Can you just explain to me the basic principle then, ie what happens when you press button 1, something goes live in the alarm unit and make a feed go live somewhere ?

As a side issue, when I press button 1 while sitting in the car, I can hear and audible click like a relay switching.

Jesus H 21 August 2011 06:49 PM

if you can hear the relay clicking then it is more than likely going to be a power issue going to the ignition wire at the car.

The way he has wired it isn't something that should really be done (safety reasons). To fix it is going to require someone who knows their way round alarms etc..
