Which wheels do I keep?
I have a set of rota GRAs 18s on the car currently. I also have a set of team dynamics 1.2 18s. Currently rotas have road tyres and teams have r888s. I'm going to keep one set and the r888s (pretty sure sizes are the same). Which is the stronger, lighter and better wheel for track use?

for track team dynamics for track rota look good but others will be better for the track m8
|
Not too worried about the look... Justseeb some horrible pics of wheel failures on track, so want the strongest of the sets I have.

This can happen to on any alloy
Probably worth ask here Mags, what he thinks. Here is good article about the Rota on track http://niketalk.yuku.com/topic/144452 Jura |

any wheel could crack or shatter under a particular stress , the pictures of the wheels that crack never say why or show how , they could of hit a kerb or pothole at speed , i have seen rangerover wheels crack spokes and other premium brand cars wheels shatter under a hard impact .
i could pretty much guarantee that all the cracked wheel pics etc have been taken after an impact of some sort on track or on the normal road ! |
The Rally Evo prob isnt using cheap alloys and look at the impact mark on the Lotus... he hit something hard

Also is that not a standard Lotus wheel? Do they use rota wheels? I didnt think so. |
Yeah its a standard Lotus wheel, same wheel as both the newer Elise and Exige have :)
