S202 Spoiler

I was talked into having this spoiler instrad of the Big Carbon one i wanted, what do you all think? - Good or Bad! I cant make my mind up.

Not sure i like it yet:confused: Bit if i do sell this and go back to my first choice, any idea what i would get for it?

Um... and please ignore the wheels, they were on the car when i bought it, ive had to put all my cash into a new engine so the wheels have been put back for a while. But just for info, what colour wheels as well???

Cheers all..:thumb:

not my cup of tea tbh mate but some people might like it :thumb:

grahamc 20 July 2011 09:21 AM

It's rubbish, but first dibs if you sell ;)

g7prs 20 July 2011 09:26 AM

Ditch the big scoop for one from a bugsti and get some new wheels and it will transform the car!

MattyB1983 20 July 2011 09:27 AM

Not liking the spoiler chap.
STI spoiler and some bronze coloured rotas would look good.

Stylsvig 20 July 2011 09:28 AM

I like it! Looks nice!

TonyBurns 20 July 2011 09:33 AM

If its in good condition then you should get around half its original purchase price (as an STI accessory) so approximately £750-800 quid.

Tony:)

No way m8, i cant see it being worth that, besides its not original paint, just had it resprayed, only collected it yesterday.

TonyBurns 20 July 2011 09:40 AM

An S202 spoiler is like 1600 quid new (back in 2002 when the yen was good v the pound), so believe it or not, a good one will fetch 750-800 quid.

Tony:)

MattyB1983 20 July 2011 09:45 AM

Tony,, nobody will pay £750 for that spoiler. I appreciate your a man of great knowledge but this time I reckon your well out. Just because it was £1600 ish new does not mean anybody (in their right mind) will pay half that for a second hand one.
For starters it's fricken horrible and secondly you can pick up a better looking STI wing for a third of that.

Tony that isn't a genuine S202 spoiler, if it was then it would be worth somewhere near your suggested figure but it's a replica so I would say around £150-250 depending on who made it and how good a condition it is in. :)

If its a replica (though not mentioned by the OP ;)) then yes its 150 quid, if its a proper S202 one then im sticking to my original price ;)

Tony:)

Ah see as you mean, the original one is higher and the replica is shorter :D

And the mounting feet on the boot are totally different as well. ;)

madmerlin 20 July 2011 10:31 AM

Im sure it is a replica guys, especially as i only paid 100 quid 4 it (+ another 100 for the respray)

It was carbon originaly, but the previous owner painted it black, then decided to rub it back to carbon, it was half done when i got it, so decided to simply get it sprayed black again, as that was the easiest option.

Shaks-STI 20 July 2011 10:39 AM

actually with does wheels i think it does make a change

er..... is that a good thing or not? lol

TimH 20 July 2011 11:09 AM

It isn't a genuine S202 as had been said, but it almost certainly was supplied by Subaru. I have the same spoiler (although not fitted) and it was a factory fit option to an '05 JDM STi when imported by Iain Litchfield. I swapped it for my original wing with another Litchfield owner :)

In the original carbon they go for £200-£250 as I've had several offers for mine. They are will made, although the aluminium stays on mine had corroded so I had them cleaned up and powder coated.

(FYI until I do a few more trackdays on mine (with just a Spec D lip spoiler) I'm not sure whether I actually will need to keep/fit it for better stability).
