vf 35 turbo
i have bought a vf35 turbo from a wr1 been in the shed for about 5 months it has slight play in the shaft up and down it is very slight can anyone confirm this is normal on a roller bearing turbo i know it is on a bush floating type as oil will take up the movement,:thumb:also oil is present but on the air intake side (filter side) witch i do believe is not turbo related possibly from engine failure just i will preparing to fit soon i can bring on sunday to get richards opinion thanks steve

Should be very little play in shaft, a couple of millimeters at most. Iv got an almost new VF36 roller bearing turbo in front of me and there is almost no play in any direction.
Bring it to Uxbridge on Sunday, Im sure there will be people with more expertise on the subject there. |
Steve VF35 is not roller(ball) bearing turbo,VF35 is thrust bearing turbo,if just slightly have movement in/out its OK,but if side to side and touching cartridge(core) i would say NO
