Project 2015 STi rear under spoiler
Thanks for all the positive comments.
Liked the look of the STi rear underspoiler offered for the new 2015 car https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...dd40f85d84.jpg so, given the similarity between the models decided to get one and see if it fitted :D As supplied, currently only available AFAIK in the US and Australia:- https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...31ecdc2225.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...a4ecec544b.jpg Bumper cover and beam off for test fit .... https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...6ac0391cbf.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...a4b131090d.jpg ..........to find that brackets foul the bodywork as arrowed. Following some slight bending and panel beating, brackets clear of bodywork :thumb: https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...4574de8a81.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...9c68bf8dd5.jpg After test fit with bumper beam back in place the mount brackets required some slight modification to fit https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...dfa79435d3.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...3eb6612ae0.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...459fd03787.jpg Bumper back on and test fit shows wing to be close to bottom edge of bumper....... https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...30f48b05ca.jpg ..........however as I have an HT Auto rear diffuser I wanted to use the two together, so made up some lowering brackets so that it would sit below it ......... https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...a579b4295d.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...054f09b303.jpg Silver wing not to my liking or matching my theme so now satin black to match the rest of the bottomline kit https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...21c762784b.jpg (with genuine white STi sticker :thumb:) https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...2c915f8b47.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...b4f8432e4d.jpg |
looking a good end result
is the off centre decal set because you're intending to get an SIDC one on the left? |

Magnificant Car! I like every single bit of it:luxhello:
|
Lovely car, I like your choice to go for OEM STi parts rather than most others, it goes to show that you can have a delightful looking Impreza without the need of lots of aftermarket parts :luxhello:
Have you thought of a roof vane spoiler, such as the ones on the hawkeyes? I haven't seen it done before so may be a bit of overkill or not? The only thing I would add to the cosmetics would be a Spec-C roof flap; if you are into those things :D Regards, Subaru Collector 555. |

Lovely. I would lose the stickers on the back bumper or make them all same colour like dark grey would just fit in better with the look IMO
|
WOW! Do you have a link / price for the wheels? Will they fit the latest model?
|
Was after something different to the usual Rota/Inovite route and these gave a better ET "fit" for what I wanted.

You need to be sitting down for this :D I got mine via the Swss European dealer as the postage was far far cheaper than shipping in from the States or Japan direct. They were also "out of stock" in Japan when I ordered, so had to wait. http://www.j-specperf.ch/index.php?m...oducts_id=3651 The SSR GT range................... http://www.rd-tanabe.com/lineup/wheel/index.html#link06 The F01 forged version was out of my price bracket :D |

They should do, the ET48 (OEM wheels ET55) fill the arches more on the MY11 model. What is that in English pounds :D
They are Flowformed so up there with the best The Forged version are £611 each (+ VAT) |
Since fitting them, I've never been happy about the way the rear Chargespeed bottom line pieces just "ended" without blending into anything, so have made a few changes since Trax.
As before.......... https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...b1d0ec8251.jpg Now................ https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...c8d2a386f2.jpg Have "upgraded" to a Liberal Auto full width diffuser and amazingly the underspoiler remains at the same height. OPTICAL ILLUSION: Any difference in shape of the parts running under the exhausts is due to the photo angle and the various compound curves involved :thumb: Also did a DEPO LED rear light upgrade as well :D Diffuser arrived as an FRP kit which need a certain amount of work to sort out the separate vanes on the rear bumper attached section. It also need modding to accommodate the underspoiler mounts............ https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...9a97e0af24.jpg Diffuser images below show the VERY expensive Carbon finished version https://www.japanparts.com/images/im...b.php?no=49502 https://www.japanparts.com/images/im...b.php?no=49503 https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...3354ba3547.jpg Manage to get it all done for RallyDay............ https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...f1c09bb5e5.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...e94c28b0b7.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...375d086426.jpg |

(A loose "bolted down" speed hump made contact with the underspoiler. Should be back on for Japfest :thumb::D http://liberal-aero.com/products/par...gv/img/10k.jpg The MY15 STi rear underspoiler now residing on Mr Ostle's (rob84) new car :thumb: |
Those speed bumps are a nightmare, I'd be tempted to contact the council and make a claim, I did years ago and they paid out pretty quickly!
Sorry I actually meant the old narrower diffuser before the full width, but now I'm on a pc I can see it was the HTautos one. |

With or without diffuser it still looks awesom Don :thumb:

Thought it was good before but it's now much firmer and positive, any hint of slackness has been removed. :thumb: May have to look at the flexible rear subframe supports................. http://www.sti.jp/parts/catalogue/im...mgs/spp1-3.jpg What a fantastic car. A real credit to you. |

What a fantastic car. A real credit to you. Available via Japanparts (make sure you're seated when checking the prices :D ) Rear flexible mounts https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/39181 Flexible stiffeners seem to only be listed as part of the Performance Package at the moment (Original Japanparts part number 1008P STi 020-005 / STi part number ST20118ZR000 ) OR Surprisingly ICP can supply both http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts-info.asp?id=10344 http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts-info.asp?id=10345 |
