2006 Sti valuation please

Hi folks,

Can anyone give me a valuation on what they think my car is worth?

This truly is a lovely example of a 2006 Hawkeye Sti with low mileage, full service history and a good but reliable and strong spec / power and torque output.

Only the best parts have been used on this car and anything that has been carried out has been done by Paul @ Extreme scoobies or Subaru main dealer.

i agree with this, but, thing is you will need to go private sale and sell to a fellow enthusiast that knows the relevent good points and how desireable they are. i have been looking at trade ins recently and my best quote was £8k against a £13k car, so did not bother. (VW tried offering £6250 :lol1:) mine has 53k on mine.

ha, I would have been offended by that.

matth76 09 July 2011 07:26 PM

Looking around privately most were going for about 12-13k. Trade were around the 14-15k. This was for a 2007 plate mind you and about 4 months ago, when I was doing extensive daily searches through the ads, looking for my car. Your car looks pristine by the way! Absolutely stunning. Why the sale?

Mines up for £12,995 with a load of proper enthusiast upgrades and extras, 11k miles. :)

I think people are in the right ball park for yours. All depends how quickly you want to sell. I'm not too bothered if mine sells or not, the right person comes along in time :) And if they don't they don't :D

juggers 09 July 2011 08:19 PM

Looks a minter would say 9k trade in or 10k-11k privately.

greatgonzo 09 July 2011 09:13 PM

I think you would be pushed to get £10,000 for a trade -in, maybe £8,000!

Yeh I suppose your right 8k is more realistic and a 10k private sale.

Dave Y 10 July 2011 11:31 AM

I do like the look of this car.better start saving my pennies incase it comes up for sale.

bluenosewrx 10 July 2011 12:11 PM

Nice car, but not for sale, but you want a Spec C, so is it for sale or not???

Sorry don't understand "FPMSL"

Some values (aberdeen within last year), on a forecourt at a subaru dealer an MY06 or 07, sti 13-15k - no mods.
non-subaru dealer 11-15k (with mods)

10-12k ok private , but you could wait a while for a buyer.

Lucky to get 9k part x, being honest, apparenty the book price for a standard sti was £9995 August 2010 when I asked about a part x on my MY06 sti. Garages tend to take money off if they're modded as well !
I sold the MY06 sti to subaru dealer (to get dosh for MY07) for £10000 in October 2010 and they sold it a week later for £12995
When I wrote off my MY07 sti (similar mods but uprated brakes and suspension), at beginning of year, insurance said was only worth £9000-10000, in the end got £10500 and that was a real fight. Insurance only pays out for standard and that is what all garages will use as a part x, unless you got some leeway by goin for a newer more expensive car - was offered £11500 part x on evo 10 fq360 December 2010.
I paid £12000 for my MY07 sti, 350bhp, 27000 miles, I then uprated the brakes, bought 4tyres and changed suspension, before losing it.
I reckon you could get £12k, but more than likely you will have to keep droppin price til you get closer to 10.5k.
Although I just bought a good condition MY06 wrx for 8k, but she needs shocks done.
By the way I admire you're driving if you can cope with stock sti struts and springs kicking 370. My standard MY06 sti wallowed a lot and so did the MY07 when she was set to standard height for a bit with coilovers on.

I ve got my 57 plate sti type uk with ppp 20700 miles fssh on pistonheads due to the wife going to be made redundant listed at 11800 ono been on about 1 week..

mrjelly 10 July 2011 08:26 PM

I think
FPMSL stands for
F**kin pi$$in myself laughing.

And poster refers to a classic 447bhp for £8.4k with 95000 miles. What he doesn't really get is the hawkeye sti is much more desirable and better looking, ha ha..

Although the best car I've had was a classic UK saloon modded to 300bhp with a hybrid turbo, she was great.
However I think paying more than £4000 for a classic, no matter how modded is just daft, unless its a p1 or whatever.
Each to their own I guess but I reckon FPMSL is a tad harsh

Terminator X 10 July 2011 08:33 PM

^^ I actually meant £10-12k was a low ball valuation when you look at the spec of the car ...

TX.

PS If you can get hold of a 450hp classic for £4k, let me know as I'll buy it for you :thumb:

greatgonzo 10 July 2011 09:54 PM

Personally I think mods on a car can put most people off, and can even devalue it even if there done well,

mrjelly 10 July 2011 10:06 PM

Hey TX....
I didn't mean to offend !

Yeah you're right and I guess it seems like that to all of us here, but unfortunately they are only worth what people are prepared to pay for them and that includes the problem people have with insuring them, especially modded.
I didn't say I could get a 450bhp scoob for 4k or that it wasn't a great thing to own (I did say that even my 300horse one was brill), just that I couldn't justify paying more than that for a classic for myself. Don't get me wrong I love classics -I've also got a classic wagon right now but I just like blue hawkeyes more.
I felt guilty only giving 12k for my last sti, but at the end of the day they are still just cars that WE love and crave where as the majority of regular folks frown upon them.

It's a sad thing but most of our cars are worth more breaking for bits than selling as a whole.
Cheers
Ken

What greatgonzo says is true unfortunately when he says can put MOST PEOPLE off.
