The Rig 09 July 2011 09:52 AM

rich666 09 July 2011 10:09 AM

Yea it is

scoobyd00999 09 July 2011 10:24 AM

Sounds more like a uk model

rich666 09 July 2011 10:31 AM

It says import on the paper work
I just can't work out y the arial is on the roof bit at the front

Midlife...... 09 July 2011 10:33 AM

Does it have a rear wash wipe and the indicator stalk on the right hand side ?

Shaun

rich666 09 July 2011 10:34 AM

It's got the washer bottle near the rear light in the boot and a rear wiper , which my uk Neva it's just a bit odd that the arial is not in the rear 1/4

rich666 09 July 2011 10:36 AM

And the indercators are on the right hand side

Midlife...... 09 July 2011 10:37 AM

It's an import then :)

Depending on MY and model the ariel can be either in the rear 3/4 or in the a-pillar. Does it have a roof vent ? Post up the applied model code and we can work out what you have bought LOL

Shaun

i might be able to offer something imports came into this country without any audio equipment fitted as standard all audio equipment was fitted at the docks. so it stand to reason that could fit it in either position.

rich666 09 July 2011 10:53 AM

So it is a wrx thanks guys
I thought I'd got a ringer for a sec lol

Midlife...... 09 July 2011 11:05 AM

Quick check of the brochure pics of the original WRX's in Brian Long's book and they were indeed launched with the a-pillar ariel......................and the natty catchphrase "new drivers basic" LOL

Pre '98(ish) classics all had the indicators on the right whether they were imports or UK models ;)

Gets confusing for me, myself and the Mrs both have uk turbo 2000s, mines a '97 and hers is a '99. I keep trying to wipe the windows instead of indicating when I drive hers :lol1:

:D :D

Indeed, the early imports have them above the drivers door. Think they moved over to the rear quarter on the MY95 model.

They all had aerials as standard in Japan, so they sure as hell didnt only fit them once they got here!

bulldogtwy 09 July 2011 11:40 AM

the ones that were due for shipping didnt have them im fully aware theyhad fitted as standard in japan but the ones that were being shipped didnt much like the air-con was fitted over here aswell.

ScoobyForLife27 09 July 2011 11:42 AM

I think you are maybe taking about classics that were made in Japan, but were for the UK market? i.e. Shipped over here as new cars and named "Turbo 2000"?

All the used JDM cars that have come across over the years will already have their aerials and air con and whatever else as it was when they left Japan. Nothing will have been added at this end other than a fog light for the MOT.
