Type uk badge ??

Guys occasionally see the blobeye sti with the Type uk words underneath on the bootlid area, is this Type uk badge just given to cars that were officially sold in the uk or is type uk a special edition model ?? was it only used on the STI version off the blobeye and not the WRX ??

I think it got that since it was the first STi model to be officially imported, all others before that were grey imports.

The "Type UK" denoted thsat it met UK specs for emissions, undersealing, foglight at the rear, and some other details.

And knowing the thieving Japs, probably that they had again stripped off some of the STi goodies for the grateful UK market to pay more for the car anyway:mad:

yes jap blobeye is better dccd folding mirrors twin scroll turbo xenons higher rev limit better engine etc
type uk means "i got ripped of and brought an inferior spec car to the imports"

Okay thanks for the info just wonder is there any other ways off confirming if your car is uk or import ?? documents are away at swansea just now which would confirm , sure the seller said it was a uk wrx blobeye, does not have xenons so take it that means its a uk version wrx as opposed to jap import wrx ??

anyone know where I may buy a couple a bit cheaper than Subaru themselves ??!!

not sure about xenons or jap wrx spec
the differences i posted about apply to sti blobs
