not sure tbh mate, they require drilling 3 new holes as the adaptors are generaly for classics but they do the job just fine with 3 new holes and 3 self tappers
|
When I upgraded my Bugeye's front door speakers, I fitted Infinity 605CS components which are 6.5", I made some adaptors from MDF so the magnets didn't touch the window's, made a BIG difference and was pretty easy to fit and make the collars :thumb:
|
5.25 adapators available from most uk places...6.5 ones available from usa, which means more volume/sound for your money
|
I did post on here a couple of years ago about the adaptors I got for front and rear. They were easy to fit and no extra drilling required.
|
Just fitted the US front adaptors, coupled with JBL GT5-6508c 16.5cm 6.5" 210w components, however I'm really not happy with the quality of the sound....
Beginning to think something isn't wired correctly...... Perhaps its the standard head unit? |
I fitted Infinty 65.9cs at the fron with uprated Tweeters.
Rears also done with Infinity 42.91 wich I think had a spacer , I fitted these 2 years ago so unsure how the rears fitted. I think they came with a spacer ring of sorts which I used. |
where can i source the adaptors??
wiley |
i fitted Vibe 6 1/2 components in my blobeye and used Corsa III spacers from Halfrauds.

I purchased some 18mm MDF from B&Q, used th ecrap from the states as a template, made a few adjustments around the curvature of the doors to get the mdf spacer flush; then used plenty of sound dampening material and the difference even with the crappy standard head unit is massive. My advice, buy some MDF and get making your own spacers....only took a few hours.... |
the ones from usa are fine.
perfect fit? |

perfect fit? When you're buying from as far away as the states, you want them to be right.... |

i fitted hertz speakers, which are deep, approx 70mm, and they fitted fine, with no clearnace issues.
worth taking another look, certain speakers just wont fit tho, i think 70mm depth is your max |
So is the 130mm depth rather than speaker size the halfords ones can take?
