Removing AC

Does anyone know what is involved in doing this?
Can I just cut the belt and remove the pump after being de-gassed?

Yep. Don't forget the radiator as well. Degassing is fun. Just crack one of the banjo bolts then run like fook. Return after about an hour.

Don't do it!:D
Seriously if you're making a dedicated track/weekend toy then it's worth it but for anything else I wouldn't bother. It will keep you cool on warm days (when we have them) and add to the resale price. It's only my opinion and it's your car so feel free to tell me to bog off.:)

Quite easy to do. Yes cut the belt remove compressor, pipework, radiator, fan, canisters...

Like has been said, unbolt banjo, hold your breath and remove it and run inside for a little bit

I'd keep it :D

Got it de-gassed properly this morning cos I didn't want to kill any polar bears!
Compressor was seized so I havnt used it so far this year, I'll keep the bits in case I sell the car but considering the car will probably be worth less then a tank of fuel by next year it'll end up a track car.
Thanks for the advice, Tim.

Just started the car up to go out and CEL is on and it's in limp mode, all I've done is removed AC and all associated bits?? Can anyone shed some light for me please?
Can the CEL be removed by starting engine 5 times?
Thanks in advance
