Petrol light on face-lift classic?

Hi there, I was wondering if anybody knows roughly how many miles I will get after the petrol light comes on (1999 classic) ?

Cheers, Kind Regards Alex.

To the nearest petrol pump. Not worth risking a lean mixture due to lack of fuel. My bug went VERY low and I nearly S'd my pants with the noises it made. Coaxed to nearest pump £5 in then to Tesco to brim the tank.

When I changed my fuel pump,I waited till the light came on and there was roughly about 7ltrs in the tank. I have done 30+ miles when the light has come on in the past, but I always take it steady till I can find a tesco or a shell garage as I wont use anything else.

Supposed to be 2 gallons, so no more than 50 miles to abslote empty, which I'd NOT want to do.

On 98 - 00 model cars there is a low fuel (petrol) light on the dash, this is not available on the earlier classics 93 - 97.

Yeah I know, hence the "What light??" comment, both early 90`s Japanese cars I have do not have a petrol light.
Tbh mine has been well off the below empty mark when the petrol station I wanted to go to was closed forcing me to go elsewhere.
