Bugeye STI Prodrive Headlights

Got a WRX and i've bought the above headlights off a guy on here. What i thought would be a straight swop of a job now looks more difficult because there are some HID ballasts with them, I think thats what they are.

Is there any extra wiring involved or do these just fit onto the headlights as well as the normal wiring. I'm really thick at stuff like this as you can probably guess. If anybody has any diagrams or anything that they could post on here it would be appreciated ;)

Is it the STI lights you have or the Prodrive ones similar to the morrettes? I suspect the former if you say HID:wonder:

Either way, the standard WRX has a single dipped/main bulb whereas all of the other options have separate bulbs. This means that you need to split the live feed as there is a single live going to the WRX set-up. The feeds for the dipped beam just wire into the HID ballast.

It's worth remembering that Subaru's use a switched negative hence why there's only a single live feed and 2 negative feeds to the WRX lights.

Ther you go, you lost me. This looks like its a job way beyond me. Is it something a qualified auto elecy would find easy to do?

Yes they should:thumb:

I have made looms up in the past and have the stuff to do them again, but I have about 12 hours left in the UK for the next couple of weeks.

If you are not in a rush and confirm which lights you have i may be able to help it you can manage a couple of crimps on your own with pictoral instructions:wonder:

A decent auto-spark should find it quite easy, just be warned that the factory HID brackets need the bumper removing and the tread tapping into an existing hole in the slam panel/bumper bar.
