Differance in spec Uk2000 model - wrx

As title stays really i know the uk model has less power but is it also missing anything else? Also whats the differance with the wrx that gives it more power, bigger turbo?

are you talking about the japanese wrx or the uk WRX STi?

IHI VF28 turbo not TD04.
Higher redline limit.
Fixed rear seats not split fold.
Rear wiper.
Indicator/wipers on different sides of the steering column.
Folding mirrors.
Climate Control not AC.
Heater controls different.
Seats different.
Stronger internals on the engine.
Gearing/gearbox ratio's are different.

There are some more :wonder:.

How long is a piece of string :lol1: There are so many differences between all the models over all the years that there is no definitive answer!!

Very generally, the WRX will have bigger Turbo, different gear ratios A/C as standard and a rear wiper and will need to be run on min 97ron fuel.

my 98 wrx also has alloy wishbone and alloy wings, bonnet and cam with a vf22 and sti box as standard and made a nice 276hp with sun roof and ac and al the other goodies jap cars get

The only alloy body panels that Impreza's have are the bonnet :)

Shaun

PS if you exclude the blades of the S201 spoiler and hawk rear window spoiler.

Both models have folding mirriors. If your interested the main diffrence is theres more power and handling is better on the wrx, but the uk turbo seems softer ride, and has better security.

They don't. On the UK models its only an option and most (not all) don't have them, its standard on the WRX.
Security is only better on MY98<

Well i've never seen a uk will out folding mirriors. Wrx's don't have air bags either, or chips in keys so make easy targets.

BLU 01 July 2011 07:54 PM

I've got two here without to prove it ;) Aircon is also and option on uk cars.
It all adds weight and slows the car down :lol1:

jaygsi 01 July 2011 07:57 PM

I've never even seen a uk spec without aircon either :lol1:

All Impreza's have folding mirrors Blu. :nono:

Only the imports have electric folding ones though. ;)

Uk cars have steel front wishbones, imports are alloy.

mickywrx 01 July 2011 08:00 PM

Incidentally, facelift electric folding mirrors are considerably lighter than pre-facelift electric folding ones.

Ha ha 2 against 1 :)

BLU 01 July 2011 08:34 PM

Oh you two! You both know I meant electric folding mirrors

Ignore me I'm not reading things properly :lol1:

Thanks for that guys, but whats gives the wrx the more power? Is it hard to make a uk model up to the 300hp mark?
