Impreza 2000 Turbo UK - Easy or hard to sell?

Well as you can probably guess I'm I am wanting to get rid of my Scooby...

I just want to gauge how long it normally takes to sell one of these...

It's in good condition and low mileage. I think I'm going to target chav boy racers who drive up and down Southend Sea front.. good call? lol ;)

jaygsi 29 June 2011 09:02 PM

Terminator X 29 June 2011 09:29 PM

There's a chap on here called PSLewis, sold his standard classic in no time at all ... send him a PM to discuss :thumb: essential that it's never been reved over 3k though.

Wow you're some expert to be able to value a car without mention of year, reg, exact mileage, mods , number of previous owners, service history (or lack of it). Can you give me an idea of what my house is worth what with the market the way it is. 4 bed detached, garden with garage. Built in 1976 Thanks :thumb:

Terminator X 29 June 2011 09:55 PM

Nick's just pissed cos he sold his scoob & is stuck with a Clio ;)

Performance cars are not flavour of the month with fuel prices the way they are. If you want to sell it quickly, it will have to be cheap. If its too cheap then people will be suspicious. What is true though, is the "proper" cars with few owners, a complete service history, in good condition will gather far more interest than the dogs advised as such. Best of luck.

Classic 2000 turbos can sell from as little as 1k to 4k, as said all depends on year, miles, service history, condition.

But he makes up for it with all the ass-action he gets with the other clio owners after their chug-fest they sit around the camp fire and tell tales of racing an Impreza sport and just beating it off the lights!

Happy gays, or is it happy days

bromlio 30 June 2011 09:51 AM

Thanks for the comment guys.
Well my car is listed here on piston heads: http://pistonheads.co.uk/classifieds/manage/index.asp

I think the price is right... or maybe not let me know what you guys think.

Anyone got any tips where else I should adviertise? Been on Ebay before but been pretty pointless as the bidder are unreliable!

Cheers.

sweden 30 June 2011 10:35 AM

might want to put some more pics up and no owners etc i know when i was searching for one it made a big diff on the initial impression of the car, price seems bit high but you might be lucky ;)

f1_fan 30 June 2011 10:49 AM

It's a nice car that hasn't been messed with and has history and low mileage, but sadly I think if you want a quick sale you will need to lower your price.

jaygsi 30 June 2011 12:10 PM

Thats bang on price. With that low miles and doesn't look like been abused. You don't find many with those low miles, most are high miles thats why they sell for cheap.

Brun 30 June 2011 12:30 PM

Details of how boost has been raised?
Service history - main dealer? Specialist?
Wheels look to be new age???

That's what jumps out.
It looks to be a good car. If it is then talk it up some. The mileage is good - can you prove it? HPI clear? How many owners?

classic Subaru Si 30 June 2011 12:30 PM

Way overpriced - you need to be looking at the 2 grand mark, if your lucky. You can get sti's for that sort of money nowadays...

bromlio 30 June 2011 12:47 PM

Thanks for the advice guys. Much appreciated, I'll make some adjustments to the ad.

Any other good places I could be posting the ad apart from pistonheads?

Cheers

Tidgy 30 June 2011 01:02 PM

def wrong wheel description, there new age wrx wheels not sti v2 wheels.

how have you upped the boost? if its mapped worth mentioning who mapped it, reults etc etc.

its a buyers market though, it will sell for what you get for it (sounds daft but depends how quick you want it gone, how much your prepared to drop it etc etc). see how it goes, if you dont get much interest then price is too high.

jaygsi 30 June 2011 02:36 PM

Si i've seen one of those go for 3500 with 120k on the clock although the engine had a rebuild, but still, classics in that condition and milage are worth the money.

midnight 30 June 2011 03:54 PM

Not wanting to dampen your spirits, but my mate who turned up on the tunnel run in brum last saturday who was in a silver V reg uk turbo with fsh,82k full prodrive interior, gearknob,& suspension and wheels + exhaust paid £1000 for his car with that spec 3 weeks ago .

To add insult to injury he has also bought a W reg uk wagon last week with 120k ,which was nearly as tidy as my own in the same colour ,service history upto 70,000 and drove brilliantly also for £1000,so there are some decent cars to be had if you know where to look:norty:.
I also believe chtcpo(mark) sold his uk turbo(x reg) a few months ago and that car was mint with just over 40,000 miles on the clock for £3,600.:wonder:

Good luck with the sale

jaygsi 30 June 2011 04:03 PM

The v reg was in a saloon? If so that was a cracking buy. The wagon an't a bargain you can pick them up for next to nothing. All depends where your looking, sometimes you get people who just want to get rid.

djsparra 30 June 2011 04:14 PM

Looks like a tidy car, but price does seem a bit ambitious for a UK spec. I payed less than that for my wrx wagon with less miles.

midnight 30 June 2011 04:19 PM

Sorry but £1000 for a uk turbo MY 2000 wagon which means it can be remapped using ecu tec software is a bargain no matter what planet you come from imho:cuckoo:.
See how many MY2000 turbo saloons /wagons you can see from here :wonder: :

Mileage is irrelevant if its had a rebuild, and prob worth more if API has done the build, or someone similar. Uk turbos are worth crutch, unless they are proper show pieces - Was a fine example in the for sale section a few weeks ago. It was by far the cleanest I've seen, and well known on the show scene - that was an exception.

APIDavid 30 June 2011 05:09 PM

Start this car at £2995.00 and take close as you can get. £3495 is getting close to bug eye 2001 WRX price these days.

I know bugs aren't popular but they drive great.

There all sports lad. Only a few wagons on the with high miles. Only decent one on there was a wrx wagon 70k on the clock but that was automatic so worth nothing.

That's true ... sold in under 1 hour ... in fact, the advert hadn't yet appeared fully on PH.

It was 1 owner, very clean, 12 months MOT and 10 months Tax, 100,000 miles.

Sold 13 months ago for a smidgen over £3,000 ..... yours is a bit heavy on the price I would say.

£2995 should see it away - don't listen to those saying it's only worth £1,000 or £1,800 - there are plenty around at that price ..... but they are complete dogs.

The best get the best money ... you are into Bug Eye Territory - but no-one wants the ugly Bug Eye (least desireable of all Subarus) ... so, don't worry about that - Calssics are best.

winston69 03 July 2011 10:58 PM

I bought mine for £3k.
1999, 50k miles, mint condition and pretty standard except upgraded brakes
