Handbags ladies.:D

i take it you have one then, what power you running and what do you think of it.

I think the point he is making and its the same as been said on here before the japanese impreza is better than the a uk spec car. Its starts better and you cant go far wrong with a litchfield. Thats not to say RB320 isnt nice its just not in the same league as the litchfield.

Out of interest, what do insurance company's think of Lichfields and jdm spec c's ?
My RB320 was even on Aviva drop down list. Last year £488 with mods declared. :thumb:

A car like a litchfield would be best Insured through a specialist broker like Keith Michaels or A plan who understand modifications.

Ok so they have more toys, stronger engines out of the box but I think everyone who has not driven one and has jumped onto the Jap cats are better.actually needs to go and drive one as its a personal taste and.for me I'm not a fan of the twin scroll set.up. found it very linear power band and although very responsive very early nothing a change of gear won't sort, found my old type 25 (flame suit on) dull to drive, I personally prefer the punch and characteristics of a single scroll turbo, each to their own I guess, but to the OP the rb320 was set up as was the p1 for our roads, suspesnsion was tweaked etc, came with the power hike to and a rather clean looking interior. It imo will do what the p1 did and in a way still does and is sort after by an individual who wants a UK car, that will hold its value, is limited so you feel a bit special, insurance is cheaper and is a well set up car out of the box. Now if you want to change the suspension, drop one a forged 2.35 etc then the money could be better spent with a uk sti and change, up to you but I would strongly suggest test driving a uk sti, rb320 and jdm sti of some form to see what you like as you have to live with it everyday.

Best of luck

My insurance for the modified spec c would of been the same price for a modified uk sti had it not been for my girlfriend aged under 28. ( Im sure it used to be 25 )

I have never found much of a difference with any of my imports apart from the pajero which was expensive. 6 years ago with fewer imports around i had an imported evo VI and my younger brother an official uk evo VI, we both were paying the same on elephant

Even if the there was a big price difference in premium an RB320 is more than £245 a year to tax now than most JDM's.

Is the RB320 the really nice 4 door classic , in a nice grey/silver colour?

topman2180 30 June 2011 07:45 AM

Tony:D

Fastest Colour aswell :D and nearly £5k cheaper ;)

I do like the RB320 it's a lovely all round car :thumb: but expensive IMHO

I priced a 2nd hand Type-25 hawkeye up at £29500. That was nearly another 10 grand on top of the RB. Even though its a more solid engine(more powerful etc.. )I couldn't warrant the money. With the right mods the RB can be plenty enough for our roads anyway and Black will always look best IMO

There's a red type 25 on pistonheads very low mileage at £25k, I would still rather have the lm400 equipped sti at litchfields though,

I dont think thats the proper mileage it had 15k plus miles last year when the previous owner was selling it ,but the Cosworth motor on it blew and had to have a rebuild so I imagine the 6k miles to be on the new engine.

Just don't buy the RB320 from Church's that was a wasted 6 hour round trip.

Found out it's number 0000 a press release car, the one that was hammered by everyone from 0 miles on the clock. It's had at least 4 front end repairs / resprays and there is a 100+ picture thread on detailing world stating how they couldn't quite correct everything because the paint is now so thin (except for the front which has about 10 layers of paint).

Probably worth mentioning to that someone at some point who did one of the many front resprays didn't wipe it down first and lacquered over flies.

Shame as does look mint but after finding out the history decided to walk from it drove well though I'm sure it would of been fine but think the paint will fall off now if you go over 30mph.

Lets hope it had a decent rebuild then.
