PSi3 data monitor S.E.C.S unit
If you don't know what this is, its a Data Monitor for all Subaru's, that can communicate with the ECU, via the OBD port, to show you the below:
No display (blank area) BP Boost pressure BAR IN Intake air temperature DEGREES C (this is not charge temperature) CT Coolant temperature DEGREES C ES Engine speed RPM BV Battery VOLTS TH Throttle position % (some cars have limited range E.G 5 to 85 %) RS Road speed MPH or KMH (user selectable) IA Ignition advance DEGREES BTDC AF Air flow meter GRAMMES PER SECOND LA Lambda sensor 1 LAMBDA RATIO KC or KN Knock correction DEGREES (ignition offset) ID Injector duration MILLISECONDS EG Exhaust gas temperature DEGREES C (Software version 7 onwards only) TC Time of day clock (Software version 4 onwards only) EX Exhaust gas temperature (Software version 9 onwards only) OT Oil temperature (Available with software version 8 onwards) Requires external addition sensors to be fitted. OP Oil pressure (Available with software version 8 onwards) Requires external addition sensors to be fitted. All this data is real time and it can also be used to read Subaru fault codes, and reset the ECU. Its DIN mounted, but easy to remove, and can be fitted into the top mount cubby hole on facelift classic's, and onwards models. Its an LCD screen version and although this is not my main PSi3, the screen works fine the whole time I have used it. The firm ceased trading a few yeards back, it was a project by a Subaru enthusiast, and he sold loads of units. Its a shame these are hard to come by now. I'm after £150 delivered for it in its DIN mount. But I also have a Facelift Classic holder for it, that replaces the top centre cubby hole. I want for £30 for the top holder, genuine subaru, comes with cage. You can actually put a stereo in there if required. I'm after a version 7/8 STI top mount, so could swap for one of those. FYI these are superb units and very hard to find nowadays...however, I dont think they will work on V4 or earlier (98) because Subaru didn't use the standard OBD port layout that early.
I tried getting one to work on my V4 a while back and it wouldn't - but like I said they are superb pieces of kit - I'd have bought one years ago otherwise. |
How easy are these to fit?
|

I got one and it's the VFD version and it's ace. |
you still got this??
|
Just added pics. Took some new ones, then found ome older pics.
I did previously state that it wont fit the top mount without modification, but on closer inspection, it fits in just fine. Thanks ShotgunUK, yes you will need an OBD port for this, I forgot some older classics don't have it. L.J.F. as mentioned, its just one plug into the OBD port to get it working, and fitting depends where you want it. |
Sold to me.
|
Yep, PSi3 sold.
Pod still for sale. |
Back up for sale as it strangely didn't work with tow13's car. I think he had a 98 WRX.
Anyway, up for sale, so anyone is welcome to try it before they buy. It still works on my MY99 UK turbo. |
Yeah i mite be interested in this mate. Can i come and see if it works on my 02 sti
|
Yes no probs. I was always under the impression these would wotk on all OBD enable Subaru's. The only sure fire way I know it doesn't work, is if you have an aftermarket ECU. thats doesn't included standard ECU's with re-maps, because I know that works.
|
Now sold.
thanks |
Cheers for that mate, all fitted now along with a new single din stereo:)
|
Nice, glad it works OK.
