Yeah! I had one of those too. The ones they had in WH Smiths? Lad left it 'till 7.45 to come in though. I would have said that that was nice of him but I know it was just because he didn't wake up until then .... :Whatever_

Got up at 0615 as I was wide awake and was enjoying catching up on the golf with a coffee when my two kids (6&8) got up at 0730 and ordered me back to bed so they could take 40 minutes to make the kitchen look like Fukushima in order to produce breakfast in bed- a cold cup of tea and some raw mushrooms and beans on burnt toast. Mmmm, lovely :D Nice cards and favourite lunch coming up now from wifey so not too bad.

Great thread!

I remember how happy my late dad was, when received his Father's Day card all the way from the UK from me. It was my last memory of his excited voice on the phone before he died.

My children are to cook Father's Day special meal for their dad tonight, while his current GF and her boys come over to share it, whose dad passed away a few years ago when they were nippers. This afternoon, my daughter and her BF go to her BF's late dad's grave with flowers and a card; the lovely dad who had had enough, and sadly left this world a few months ago at as young as 41. He lives on in the memory of his loved ones.

What a day for some, and what a day for some, eh?

Therefore, just enjoy it. Show your fathers that you love them, even if they are now shining on the horizon like a bright star forever.

Happy Fathers' Day to my father, my creator, my rock, my friend, and my philosopher. Love you, Dad. :thumb:

:thumb: Made up day by the American greeting cards industry. The missus insisted on getting me a card and present from our 2 month old though. As he gets older I'll discourage it :)

Leslie 20 June 2011 11:09 AM

Misery guts...even if what you say is correct!

Les ;)
