just wondering?????

Hi, i've just bought an 06 plate hawkeye and was wondering if its ok to take it to my usual garage for them to have a check over or should i take to to subaru or subaru specialist? My local garage have done me well with all my other cars but none have been as specialist as the scooby. Im not talking about having them service it or anything like that but just a general look over the shocks and roll bar as im gettin a bit of noise from the rear.

Cheers.

I'd have thought work like that would be ok. But i would find yourself a good specialist in the area that people off here recommend for most if not all of the work you want doing to the car. Pays in the long run

ok thanks,do you know of any specialists in the essex area.

Try posting in the Essex section further down the page, Mate, you'll be spoilt for choice! What noises have you got from the rear?

ok i will do, thanks. hard to describe, i guess its a knocking of sorts, when pulling off slowly, over bumps, but i dont hear it when im doing above 20mph. i have done a few searches and have seen the rear shocks are common probs but not sure if its that or not. when i open the boot and rock the back of the car by pushing down on the boot floor i do get a bit of noise from the right rear side

Sounds like the dreaded Knock :(
Try getting some grease on the shaft of the shock, it can help stop the knocking for a while but wont stop it totally.

Im not very hands on when it comes to anythin mechanical if im honest. I have been reading about bc shocks. Are they the best around?

I believe they are the cheapest step up from standard, they knocked as well before they modified the top mounts or something like that, your still looking at about a grand for supply and fit tho.
