Squeaky brakes ??

Hi guys
i have recently upgraded my discs to drilled and grooved and fitted new pads all round on my 2001 Bugeye but i have a little squeak from the front thats there when your driving along but goes when you apply the brakes?
i have done 120 miles so i would say that they are bedded in but what could be making the noise and what checks can i do to try a find a solution?
any help appreciated :thumb:

Could be worth taking the pads out to clean up any dirt in them. Don't do what I saw in a VOSA (MOT agency) magazine where some idiot had covered his brake discs in copper grease to stop them squeaking. It looked funny on the picture and the supporting comments.

Always put copper grease on the BACKS of the pads this should work, if not you could look at using shims if the pads support them.

+1 - my bugeye pads had shims as standard, they don't squeal.
At one point, the disc guard had bent slightly and rubbed a little - just needed bending back again to stop it. Will be removing em soon to fit my K-Sports anyhoo :D

There is stuff you can get for the job, but I'm sure the copper grease works too!

Same thing applies though the sound you are hearing is vibration of the pads. Coating the reverse of the pads with this stuff does work!
