Standard Subaru oil filter, or a blue print one. Pre-fill the filter, and use Motul 300V.

Remove the crack sensor and turn it over until oil pressure is gained. Re-connect it and away you go :)

I get my oil and filter from Alyn at www.asperformance.com ...... Fuchs/titan/silkolene Pro race 10/50 synthetic.

TBH searches on here will give a million hits, go for a supplier with a good rep and you can't go far wrong ..

NOTE

when removing/loosening the oil sump nut, its actually a rather big nut, and thus so is the hole. be prepeared with a proper oil catcher (one of those cheap 6l ones wont do) as the oil comes out very fast compared to other cars i have personally worked on.

one like this is ideal

Another vote for opie oils over here! I use millers cfs I would tell what grade but I'm afraid scoobynet will crash under a billion posts if I do:lol1:

I emailed opie and they recommended me an oil and grade based on my particular setup.

I use the subaru filter.

As said above Silkolene Pro S 10-50 is very very good oil.

Or use the 'SEARCH' function. This subject must have been covered on here well over a thousand times now. Best not to add to the confusion!

+1 for Opie oils just got 10-50 with a 25% total discount 10% members + 15% special offer at the time, they always have different offers on during the course of the year .

I would not put anything less than 10-40w if your running 350bhp and 10-50w ideally anything else and your simply asking for trouble and make sure you change every 5k at least.

BTW the current Subaru blue oil filter are rubbish (made in canada) go for STI pink (better flow rate) , scoobyparts or scoobyworld will have them in stock

chrisdicko 16 June 2011 02:38 PM

Or blue print filters ;) or the black ones still, as many top tuners still use them and can't complain about them.
