Guys can you help?......Since I have had my Scoob I have always run it on unleaded and not optimax, Well since my last fill up I feel my Scoob dosen't have the power she had should I fill her with optimax (got half a tank at the moment) or should I just leave it, I just want the best out of my car and I don't want to have to keep messing around with her, If I fill with optimmax will I notice a differance immeadiately or will it take a few tank fulls. Any help greatly received.

i used to sceptically use unleaded because it was cheaper-BUT i now use super unleaded -and its miles better for performance,smoothness and less need to use the accelerater. used optimax once didnt like it -maybe needs 2 full tanks to reset the ecu before i might notice[i have a 99 ppp scooby]

Personally I've used Optimax since it was first introduced, and I'm sure there's an improvement in low end smoothness. I'm less convinced that there's any more power compared to SUL.

It's not unheard of to get a bad tank of fuel; my advice would be to run the car until the tank is almost empty and then refill with SUL or Optimax. If the problem is with the fuel, this should sort it pretty quickly.

(Edited to add that I have a MY00 with PPP - the PPP was designed for 98 RON fuel, so it should be able to get the best from both SUL - 97 RON - and Optimax - 98.6 RON. Your mileage may vary)

We think it is a bad batch of fuel, my son filled his bike last night and had to strip it down this morning cos it would not start, I'm still not sure about the optimax though
