Seriously what the feck with the below story

If you arent fit enough to do the test, you arent fit enough, give it up!

Or in todays era, just take them to court , win 30k and change the test so you can pass it.

That is a bit odd. Presumably they do the test for good reason: To ensure you are fit enough to run the required distance and then beat an innocent passer by to death.

If you can't do that, you shouldn't take the test...

edit: Its the same police force (Manchester), so understandably they want to avoid that happening again.

Hope she gets sent to police an Old Firm game by the people that have to fork out the 30k of taxpayers money. Then she might understand that the rules are not just about her.

51year old woman in a riot is a liability for the rest of the officers involved.

And i'm sure she saw the opportunity to make a few quid and took them to court, she's probably got an axe to grind with the top brass.

Lets face it, she would need to be a zeena warrior princess type woman half her age to hold her own with a bunch of alcohol fueled football hooligans.

Not saying that women can't do the job, but anyone doing something like that does need to possess a certain physical stature and fitness, including blokes.

Bad day for common sense, the police and women police officers.

I wonder just how many female officers will be held back and/or not treated as 'equals' and seen as making up the numbers/quota instead of on their merits and treated with kid gloves because of this selfish idiot!

Quite ridiculous verdict. The test is obviously designed to see if you are able to cope with a violent demonstration etc. If you can't pass it then you are likely to be a liability for the rest of the officers at the scene in the real case.

We were quite used to tests to find out your capabilities in the Service and if you failed it, you could have another go, or apply for a different kind of job.

She is certainly taking a very selfish attitude over her failure.
