10k What's That Get Me ?

Got let down on a Spec D this week it had overheating issues

Have 10k ish burning a hole in my pocket at the minute, been talked out of anything with a 2.5 engine either for pistons or head gaskets.

Fancy a really late blob or some kind of JDM engined car.

Suggestions please as I can't seem to find an ideal car for 10k ish.

Cheers

juggers 12 June 2011 12:00 AM

http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2655166.htm I would say this as it's a spec c ,but it's got the 2.5 conversion so I would expect the same thing to happen. Otherwise for 10k its a cracking deal.

Says something about a donor car tho not to sure what thats all about??????

shurm 12 June 2011 12:05 AM

Yeah seen that seems a genuine chap emailed him, hmmmm

Steve001 12 June 2011 12:32 AM

offer the guy 8k for the specD i think it costs about 2k to get head gaskets done :thumb:

shurm 12 June 2011 12:38 AM

I was buying it for £9500 so I was thinking £7500 !! He's trying to trade it in I think somewhere.

Feel sorry for the garage who ends up with that, one pissed of customer £3k bill to repair car...........etc

shurm 12 June 2011 12:50 AM

Yeah I saw it an autotrade mail the day after I rejected it (I'm in the trade) someone was after an underwrite on it so I rang them up and gave him the info needless to say he pulled his ad and told the bloke to go elsewhere.
Beware a Spec D from Preston 56 Plate.

have a look at this, nice spec.

shurm 12 June 2011 01:09 AM

God that's some power/spec but want something ideally with less miles, keep them coming though. Cheers to everyone with an idea.

Steve001 12 June 2011 01:14 AM

go to a main dealer, if they are confident in a car they have for sale they might well give you a subaru 12 warranty. the warranty was good enough on my car to get the dreaded head gaskets done :) no problems since.

shurm 12 June 2011 01:23 AM

Not to keen on paying Dealer prices just want a private sale, someone parting with a really nice car they want going to a good home.

Not really much JDM stuff out there on the blob or new hatch. Fancy the 2.0lt twin scroll engine. I know a good Subaru garage just need to find a car :-(

BlueBugEye 12 June 2011 06:42 AM

Looked at Litchfields stocklists?

mylilscooby 12 June 2011 07:06 AM

shurm 12 June 2011 07:57 AM

It's just that LPG conversion has anyone else done this ? Seems a good idea with fuel prices etc but does it work ???

mylilscooby 12 June 2011 08:04 AM

yeah my mate has it done and im booked in next week to have mine done please dont think im being rude but he wouldnt have it done if it never lol im looking forward to using the LPG on the long arse motorway runs

shurm 12 June 2011 08:22 AM

Lol yeah I know it works I meant like with no problems I suppose. Don't do big miles 5-6k a year so it's not worth the bother really. Sold a STI 55 Plate 20k on here in about March 09 for £9500 can't get a proper mint one now for that price !!!

The Pink Ninja 12 June 2011 09:26 AM

Just to let you know shurm that the above JDM was sold a few months ago for 2k less than its up for sale for now, I was looking at it but the LPG put me off, Think it was sold for around £7300 or £7800, there is a thread on here about it somewhere.

DJ_Jon 12 June 2011 10:11 AM

Did you not go for a deal on my old Spec D then Shurm?

Got mine for what i think is a bit of a bargain, MY03 Imported in the UK in 2005 with 2k on the clock, 1 previous owner now has 36k on the clock and full Jap & UK history/service, loads of paperwork/receipts etc.. All for the grand total of £8650, I know some people think the Spec-c`s are a bit of a hardcore everyday car but if i`m honest its quieter and more comfy than my last scoob:Whatever_

JDM all the way, the twinscroll set up is just perfect, Way better than the VF35 on the UK`s, only slight issue i have is the gearing on the JDM box, You`ll always be looking for another gear, great for acceleration but not ideal for the motorway :D

shurm 12 June 2011 03:23 PM

Good price that I'm looking for a white one (or waiting lol) or maybe just a JDM STI.

Seen the pics on Lads looks really well.

If you see anything PM me.

cookie79 12 June 2011 03:40 PM

Scooby stu from west-mids-imprezas is selling his hawkeye for £9000

53 12 June 2011 03:49 PM

Nowt wrong with UK Hawkeyes, just need to find one that hasn't been penny pinched IMHO :) Although with £10k that maybe all you can afford tbh. :)

shurm 12 June 2011 05:19 PM

Thats why I said I was after a late UK blob or JDM car. Wasn't really expecting a Hawkeye and I've owned a Forester STI before now that needed head gaskets so perhaps I'm a little suspicious :Suspiciou of the 2.5 engine.

Can spend more for the right car though, just trying to stick to a budget.

stuart69 12 June 2011 06:02 PM

you need one like this shrum:thumb:
