Get a Honda Diesal - You'll never be able to get over 30 mph every again. ;)

CREWJ 09 June 2011 03:05 PM

Yes it's audible. I turned it off because I can see my speedo.

scooby-boy-123 09 June 2011 03:15 PM

Is this a joke? Really, WTF!!!

Funny isn't it, when they're still girlfriends they scream because they want to go faster, but as soon as you marry them they turn into the annoying audible warning.

I really hope so fella....

All those telling him to use his brain etc... Seriously like you never creap over the limit!

It's so easy to crawl over the limit especially in a 30 zone goig down hill in an auto looking at the kids playing ball near the road wondering if your gonna have road kill..

Most sat navs should let you set a limit and then it bleeps if you go over the limit.
if not get a restrictor fitted...

I think what people mean by use your brain is- look at your speedo ;) obviuos really you can't miss it! also yep everyone can go over the limit but he seems to get caught out alot ;) bit of a silly question though unless the op is blind or can't read.

pigSTi 09 June 2011 04:47 PM

The exhaust note coupled with knowing which gear I am using tells me roughly how fast I'm going. I can keep it on 30 easily this way wthout looking at the dials much.

So, yes, put a bigger exhaust on.

Big Pete 09 June 2011 04:50 PM

I can set my satnav to warn me :norty:

dpb 09 June 2011 05:39 PM

Clearly Pete 'fastboy' Lewis is on holiday :Suspiciou

Its very easy - as soon as you see lamposts stick cruise on , you may well already have been doing 50 in a forty , so next time anticipate

It comes with experience usually if you wernt paying attention during your driving test/are thick/rich//iresponsible

leedscal 09 June 2011 05:47 PM

im sure i have just seen the bandwagon drive past that most of the sn comedians jump on lol it was funny the first person to say speedo and wife,

them snoopers that detect speed cams and guns have them, it does a fairly loud beep when just over the limit :thumb:

BigSeal 09 June 2011 07:26 PM

I got the RAC TrackStar tracker and the bloody thing is hooked to the speedo.

When you near a camera, it will beep. It will also beep until you slow down to the camera speed limit.

Drive around everywhere with the handbrake on! That'll help keep at least 5 or 6 mph off.

For a bit anyway :)

StickyMicky 09 June 2011 08:42 PM

What a ****ing ridicules thread.

Not so sure; I've been round there doing 100mph on the A46 and STILL had a scabby old Vectra or Xantia on my tail waiting to get past (left lane full of horseboxes).

BoozyDave 09 June 2011 08:57 PM

don't you mean 'what a load of stupid replies'

why not just give a sensible reply or not bother :cuckoo:

all the people that drive along looking at at the speedo, making sure you don't go over the speed limit- how many people have you run over while looking at your speedo's?

if you say you have never gone over the speed limit (on purpose or accidentally) you are a lier. everyone has

what would scooby do 09 June 2011 09:12 PM

Have you tried driving everywhere in reverse ? :thumb:

BoozyDave 09 June 2011 09:14 PM

get a garmin, i think they change colour or bleep when you break the limit

i hope nobody says 'get a push bike' cos that would be stupid.

I have a garmin and that tells me if I'm speeding.

Yep as above I have a garmin too handy for these unmarked 30 mph villages

SJ_Skyline 09 June 2011 09:17 PM

A half housebrick under the accelerator pedal is the device you need.

HTH :)

The Pink Ninja 09 June 2011 09:22 PM

On a serious note, If you really need a warning, Get a HKS Type-1 turbo timer and wire the blue speed sensor wire to the ecu and hey presto, flashes from blue to red and beeps at you if you go over the limit you have set it at

PaulC72 09 June 2011 09:45 PM

LOL @ this thread maybe the OP cannot read numbers?

or maybe he should just change to .....

That's a great idea...

...if you only ever drive down a 30 mph road to and fro every day.:lol1:

tony de wonderful 09 June 2011 09:55 PM

Not true unfortunately. I can give at least four local examples where limit changes are not signed.

They include the M56 coming out of Manchester where the change from 50 to 70mph is not signed. (Joining sliproads do have the benefit of NSL signs.) You should do 50 all the way to Wales!

Funny how it generally appears to be increases in the limit that are not signed.

Leslie 10 June 2011 01:39 PM

If the street lamps are more than 20 feet high and less than 183 metres apart, it is a 30 mph limit. 30 mph signs are not required.

Don't ask me how you measure them though!

Les
