i need a bit of advice please can anyone help
 

ive recently bought some jap speed headers for my car and have heat wrapped the pipes individualy, with a half inch overlap. what i would like to know is do i now have to wrap the pipes together so now they will be double wrapped or is this to much or is it the more wrapped they are the better. cheers dodger. :wonder: :confused:

Did you use a good quality wrap like DEI?

If you have wrapped the runner indevidually this is fine. Do not double wrap. This will cause too much heat to be retained and the headers will get too hot. This can then change the physical properties of the metal and cause them to crack.

Single skin of DEI with 1/4 to 1/2inch overlap is perfect.
