Newbie saying hi !

Hi guys and girls !

Been on scoobynet since I bought my bus but have been very quiet. Moved to Essex in December (from the other side of the tunnel) and have only just got the car back on the road.

Car let me down before I moved house, then started working again just as I moved (in the snow which was epic !) .. few weeks later it stopped again. Turned out to be the immobiliser wiring to the fuel pump. This however, took WEEKS to find...

In the mean time I needed a car, so bought a Clio 172 as I used to own one, and knew them inside out. Bought a mint one, sold it, 5 months on for the same price :thumb:

Currently on the S555 plate, so if anyone sees me, wave like mad and I might wave back ! :D My private plate will be going on the Scoob at renewal time (less hassle and no extra fees from the insurance ;) )

Not too far from the big Basildon Tesco, and have seen lots of Scoobs in there occasionally. Was torture turning up to do the weekly shop and finding dozens of cars there, teasing me whilst mine was SORN'd :brickwall

Hope to attend a meet soon !

Cheers,

Rob

Looks a million times better ! I do love those wheels :D More comfortable ride ? :)

Could do with some nice black kaylan flaps now :D

TheEvilGiraffe 06 June 2011 10:42 PM

Ha. Wanna buy them ? I'll give you a good deal :thumb:

Got some half arsed pics just as the sun was going down this evening ..

Anyway, yes yes, much better... :notworthy

Had to remove the rear arch protector (hence the mud on the ground as I poked a lot of muck out both sides while it was jacked up) as it was scrubbing on passenger side, there wasn't one on the drivers side anyway :wonder: Once that was gone, cornering was much quieter, but now I think I need some coilovers ! :freak3:

And so it begins.

The dreaded "Modding Bug". :lol1:

It often starts with a touch of the wobbly wheels. Then progresses to a rash of brakes & flaps. Before succumbing to free flowing inlet & exhaust plumbing.

Welcome to the ESC community. :thumb:

TheEvilGiraffe 11 June 2011 10:42 AM

Ha, no no .. it's staying as it is :)

Maybe a 6-spd if I can find one that's under a years salary :freak3:

It's far from standard anyway !

I want to put it on a hub-dyno (perhaps TDI in Essex as they did a charity day for the Clio club - £30 each 'donation' but it all goes to Great Ormand St. hospital IIRC) and see what the score is !

Have 'we' been there before as a club !? Could be some monster power figure scores on the doors if a day was organised !! :D

53 11 June 2011 11:00 AM

We couldn't get the numbers Rob, we did try but TDi wanted c.£50 donation ea. which I think put people off when next door do rollers for £30 IIRC ? :)

TheEvilGiraffe 11 June 2011 11:59 AM

Hmm .. That's a bit rubbish on all accounts !! :(

wongy 11 June 2011 02:22 PM
