Anyone here had a low zinc deficiency before ?.

I have it a bit, not as much as i did. Also as a warning don't take zinc supplements, because that turns toxic if you have to much.So has anyone done the zinc drink test etc.

Nath.

Can't say I've given much thought to it before. Surely your average multivitamin is going to keep you from having any kind of problems and won't give you too much, like a pure zinc supplement maybe would?

bigsinky 04 June 2011 02:14 PM

barrocca, you but on a good day, along with

fioldipine, ramapril, metaformin, victoza injection, rosovastatin, glicicide, 1000mg omega 3,6,9

just rub me out and start again ffs

Better to get the correct dosage from the doc, so you don't get any unseen problems mate.I am not saying you have it, i don't know. This can cause tiredness & other symptoms.Don't think that them white things under the fingernails should be there, because they shouldn't.That's your body telling you something is wrong.I am no doctor, it's just what i learned from these vids.

I had Borrocca tablets & they f**ked me up good and proper them.Never touched them since.I couldn't walk on my right leg, after taking them.I don't know what most of them are Bigsinky, although i know of the omega fatty acids there.

you know borrocca is just vitimin c? seems overly drastic for vit c. perhaps someting else caused your leg problems

Pumpkin seeds (lightly toasted in a oil-free pan), mustard (good quality Dijon stuff is best), and Marmite or dried yeast tablets are all very good natural sources of yeast, and should keep you out of trouble if you eat some daily.

I deliberately didn't mention oysters, as not everyone likes them, they're a bit pricey, and being a shellfish they're not available all year round.

ScooByer Trade 04 June 2011 03:36 PM

I didn't know zinc was in Marmite & mustard, i shall eat some more at home.Where do you get your pumpkin seeds from Markjmd.

markjmd 04 June 2011 04:47 PM

Tesco or Holland & Barrett for pumpkin seeds, or any independent health-food shop if you've got one near you.

Zinc deficiency is an unusual one.....also blood tests are quite tricky because of contamination. Who did your blood tests ?

More problems are caused by zinc in the diet depleting copper and causing nerve problems. The biggie in my line of work is polygrip denture fixative causing problems but at the last count I thing it was 14 people worldwide.....

Are you allergic to a decent T-bone then ? :Suspiciou

Leslie 05 June 2011 10:59 AM

Having seen all those symptoms and the resulting medical problems, I must banish the mental lethargy and become galvanised into action!

Les ;)

ScooByer Trade 05 June 2011 12:07 PM

Nope dpb and i am not keen on T-bone steaks.

dpb 05 June 2011 02:06 PM

Surely you have a deficiency or you havnt , you cant have a low deficiency

ScooByer Trade 05 June 2011 03:22 PM

Lowish zinc levels mate, including my parents.I don't know about other vitamins and minerals.I eat enough porridge, chicken, fish & fruit.

How do you know though, if you haven't had a test? Even if you have a particular set of symptoms, couldn't they be caused by something else?

ScooByer Trade 05 June 2011 04:33 PM

I don't know for sure, just going by these vids.

GlesgaKiss 05 June 2011 08:06 PM

You sure it's not this you're suffering from? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypochondriasis

Haha

Seriously, if you've got a reasonably good diet (which going from how much you look after yourself you do) then you've probably got nothing to worry about. People have survived on just jack daniel's and smack (with a little food every now again) for years.
