1 more mod? classic exhaust manifold
Guys
Thought I’d cured my modification itch but I have a nagging feeling there’s just one more thing to do but I’m not sure how big an improvement I’ll see. I have a 97 car with TD04 hybrid turbo with open neck down pipe, sports cat and 3” Miltek exhaust system. Apexi ECU and fueling mods to cope. Current figures are just over 300 bhp & ftlbs My question is, what sort of returns would I see from a tubular exhaust manifold? I currently have a ported OEM one so is there much to gain from changing? I’m not averse to going to an equal length one if that’s a good option, but I won’t be paying hundreds and hundreds of pounds for just 5bhp at the top end. Any thoughts much appreciated. Cheers |
Not worth buying tubular headers when you have a small turbo like the td04, tubies only become beneficial when the size of your turbo increases quite a bit.
