Hks ssqv how can you tell a fake???
Hi just looking at getting a fitting kit for a hks sqv111 but I been spooked by alot of people saying there all fakes and it's rare to find a real McCoy anyone know how to tell if it's real or not I know that the pipe that connects to the top pipe the small one on the car is bigger then the pipe it needs to connect to on the valve??? But I have the box with made in japan on it and it has all the hks badges on the valve and it has the writing on the inside of the cone ?????

where did you buy it? a reputable hks dealer or ebay?
|
The price is normally a give away. Here are loads on Fleabay.
|
I think the only way to be sure is to buy from a HKS approved dealer. There is a list on their website.
|
proper hks kit is about £250 inc vat.did you pay anything like this for yours?
from HKS Super SQV 3 features include a nickel-plated, die-cast metal secondary valve, which is swaged to the primary valve, a stainless steel C-Clip and spring to increase sealing and durability. To assure buyers that they are purchasing an authentic HKS product, the new design incorporates a holographic HKS logo on the back of the valve, as well as additional HKS logos cast onto the body structure. |
HKS now actually say on their site that some of the fakes are so good that you cant actually visually tell the difference in alot of them, even with the hologram sticker. They said the only way to be able to be sure your getting the genuine item is to only buy one through the companys listed on their website
