Engine bay cleaning
Whats the best way to clean your engine bay and with what products? Is a pressure washer/steam cleaner necessary or is there another method - besides going to a valeting company :-)

Thanks mate for your reply.....
The only thing that puts me off is havin to cover all the electrics etc....the last time i saw someone pressure wash their engine bay, it wouldnt start after..... lol |
Just get blasting to close mate,I've literally done more than I can count and never suffered a problem:thumb:
Btw the way I run a mechanical/bodyshop which is the reason I've done so many:thumb: |
If you're worried about water ingress in the elcetrics, cover the important bits like battery terminals, alternator etc. Spray the degreaser on and leave to soak. Then reapply and aggitate with a brush. After that start the engine and rinse with the open end of a hose. Repeat as needed.
That's the simple way. You can make a lot more to it if you wanted to. There's a link at the top of the section that shows a more in depth way ;) |
