Galaxy S (not II) or Desire S?

Vodafone have offered me either of the above for an extra 5 pounds a month on my contract - I'm leaning towards the Galaxy for the larger screen, Desire S is newer, has a camera flash but other than that the spec is similar. Anyone have experience of either?

Galaxy will be rooted and custom rom'd shortly after taking it out of it's box;)

Just taken my galaxy s to Darky's 10.1 rom and lagfixed...

it rocks, 3 hrs on gps and it still has 80% battery left

Make sure the 3 button recovery mode works before you apply any root /romsets

I'd go for the desire s, but that's because I don't like huge phones. I'd also go for HTC's over a lot of phones, they were pretty much first with android, I've found a lot of the others brands still try and impose their version of android on you, some way or another.

I like the Galaxy very much. It can do more or less anything that you want. I haven't installed Darky's Rom, but have installed Android 2.3.3 and it is really good.

Either the GPS isn't working or you're pulling our legs.
