No ash cloud thread?
Hi folks,
Have been touring the Far East and have to head back to Blighty in about 24 hours. There doesn't seem to be too much on about flight delays. Should I be worried? Don't want to stress about getting home. (As work is now finished am heading off down to the pool and some Bloody Marys!) Asif |
Hi Asif
I am in Prague at the mo, flying back tomorrow too the ash cloud seems to have dissipated and air travel seems unaffected at the mo |
More importantly what is a Muslim doing drinking Bloody Marys :D
|
They say the ash cloud is no longer threatening UK airspace so as long as the volcano doesn't spark off again you should be alright.

Bloody Marys are the way to go and the only real true test of bar staff, IMO. I am perfecting the recipe, for just how I like them too, I reckon mine are pretty good. If you are transiting between Reading and Germany, feel free to pop in and try one! (Any excuse to get the Ciroc out!):D:D:D |

Les It will actually have plenty of time to get going again. I leave my hotel here about 4am UK time Friday morning. My final flight lands at LHR about 8/9am Saturday!! As they used to say in Capt Scarlett or whatever, "Anything cold happen in the next 24 hours!" Asif |

I was only born a Muslim, I don't practice. I just wouldn't be able to turn up to prayers on time.

I will be in Reading in early July so may take you up on it :D Never tried one? It is a savoury drink, to say the least, plus with the Tabasco and Worcester Sauce, can give it a little kick too. I love 'em!! Now, I can drink Whisky and coke, all day and all night, with little ill effect, but has become just too sweet for me. On my journey home tomorrow, I am flying on two reasonable airlines, but they can't make BM's for love nor money. I will be in numerous lounges too and again it is not the best place, unless you get lucky. Who knows. If I drink enough I may choose to keep SN informed of my progress home!:D |
I still like my home brew Sloe Gin though!"
Les :) |
Sounds good Les.
I'll have to have one with you at some time. In Saigon at the moment, but with a Diet Pepsi. I have drunk too much on this trip.:D I read storms are blowing over LHR!! |
Try here, probably a bit late now.
|
Cheers for that. Landed ok Saturday morning. Was a bit blowy but that hasn't stopped anyway!

I caught up with this ash cloud business when I was in Egypt. I flew back on 24th p.m. to arrive back in Manchester on 25th a.m, just with an hour long delay. Apparently, all other UK airports apart from Manchester International were closed that night for a good length of time, causing delays for others. However, pleased to know that its all settled now (fingers crossed).
