I use the X1 lol

BuRR 24 May 2011 09:53 AM

If you're nowhere near Level 30 (to try the Red Bull challenges) or Level 35 (for the free X1) then I'd suggest the Corvette ZR1.

Race prepare it (in the servicing area), then upgrade everything in the tuning shop. You should then walk it.

CREWJ 24 May 2011 09:55 AM

I used the Zonda R. Dead easy. Failing that get a Formula Gran turismo or an LMP car.

Ford GT LM spec II

+1. I cant remember which event I got gold and won one of these car. From memory you can only bosh a supercharger on it and the usual tyre upgrades but very good handling on the high speed corners.

I cant wait to get me on of these X1s (still on lvl 28) as saw some chap on Youtube lapping the Nurburgring in something obscene like 2min 28 lol

micko42 24 May 2011 06:42 PM

only on level 26 with pagani zonda race car ?

P1Fanatic 25 May 2011 01:16 PM

Im actually still on lvl 27 and I already have the GT LM spec II. Quick google shows you get it for completing A-Spec Extreme Event: Dream Car Championship. Not sure if you have to get Gold though. I used a fully tuned Mclaren F1 for that event and was pretty easy apart from 1st and last events iirc.

You can win it in B-Spec

micko42 25 May 2011 06:07 PM

i have the zonda maxed out still cant win lol

CREWJ 25 May 2011 07:55 PM

You should learn to drive then :lol1:

micko42 25 May 2011 08:21 PM

yep probably lol

CREWJ 25 May 2011 08:24 PM

Just save up for the Formula 1 car you can get in the online dealership. 4.5m isn't that much.

P1Fanatic 27 May 2011 10:21 AM

5m sounds a lot to me lol. Whats the best (read easiest) way to get the dollars rolling in? There are a few seasonal events (lambo & pick up) where you can coin in 80k for 4 mins work. Anything that gets more for a similar time&effort to dollar ratio as would rather not keep doing the same small races and prefer a longer race.

NEILLLLL 29 May 2011 06:06 PM

Just set the downforce to max and then you'll p!ss it with the zonda or the ZR1 .

P1Fanatic 03 June 2011 01:53 PM

Just got to lvl 30 a-spec so had a crack at the Vettel challenge. Damn its tricky enough getting bronze - have no idea how anyone can get gold.

Do you get the X2010 just for completing all 3 challenges ie just bronze will suffice?

alloy 03 June 2011 01:58 PM

'Vette ZR1, Race Modification, all the upgrades!!!!!

You get it for bronze in all 3 events, or you can just wait until level 35 (spec A or spec B) for a free version. No tuning, as such, on the RedBull liveried version.

If you get silver in the Vettel challenge, you get the same car that you can (eventually) buy from the dealers for $20million. This version can be any colour, and you can tweak the gearing.

The gold gets the prototype which can be adjusted more (downforce/gearing).

P1Fanatic 04 June 2011 04:28 PM

Ive done it in Bronze now and no chance of me getting silver or gold I think as 15 secs off the pace.

banny sti 04 June 2011 08:18 PM

You want to borrow my X1?

Not for me as got the Red Bull version for Bronzing the Vettel challenge. I used it over the weekend to do the endurance event 1000km of suzuka (I think thats the track). 4hrs even in the X2010 but I was something like 60 laps ahead of the opposition lol. Even with all those laps the best I could manage was a 1m9s lap time which is still way off Silver in the 3rd vettel challenge even if I could do 2 laps that fast.

Has anyone even tried the 24hr races? Im not sure I trust to leave my PS3 on for that length of time (as no way I could sit there for 24hrs so would be more like 1 week lol).

CREWJ 06 June 2011 11:48 AM

I've done the 24hrs a few times on B-Spec and once on A-Spec and that took a week lol

P1Fanatic 06 June 2011 01:01 PM

Lol perhaps sony want to kill some more PS3's so people go out and buy a new one :)

BuRR 06 June 2011 04:05 PM

24 hours on A-Spec. Woah.

I've watched the B-Spec guys whizz around Le Mans in my X1, and I think I'd have headache trying to go that fast, for so long, in low light :)

I have an old 60GB chunky PS3 (with a 500GB drive in it :)) and it's been running GT5 for about a month now (switched on constantly)
