Electrical question- any sparkys around?
Guys, I need half a dozen RX7s metal halide lamps for some new floods at home. Any do's / dont's / avoid / recommendations?
Thanks muchly :) |
Tip:
If using asymmetric reflectors (which most are) as downlighters, the glass should be almost horizontal to the ground. Or if used for highlighting stuff like walls and signs; Parallel to the surface being illuminated. If illuminating the gournd it should be aimed like this: http://www.abacuslighting.com/img/gp0063.gif Not angled or pointing outwards by any large amount. Annoys the hell out me when people point them outwards so that they illuminate the sky and dazzle anyone/everyone who walks/drives past. Also consider ASD smartfloods if you want to lower your electric bill. Unless you specifically need a certain colour or brightness level. |
Ok, thanks for that. They're just to light the garden so will be mounted in the eves pointing straight down. Agree 100% with the dazzle comment!
