Carpet Cleaner????

Well, due to having a 10 month old who has more than a few times been sick on the carpet i am thinking of buying a carpet cleaner with a budget of £50 - £100 and wondered if anyone can recommend one that actually works??

There was quite an interesting member of Scoobynet called carpet cleaner.

In that price bracket, you might be better off getting a straightforward wet and dry vacuum, and just applying carpet shampoo manually as and when needed. You'll have a wider choice of models to pick from, and they're probably more versatile for doing things like hoovering up decorating mess, shampooing upholstery and carpets in the car, and so on.

At least it's not getting semen stains out!

I remember reading that you can hire carpet cleaners - your local B&Q is an authorised hire place for them .... the name of them escapes me tho' :(

Rug-Doctor. Around £25 for a day's hire, plus cost of shampoo, spot-cleaner, etc.

Work very well if you've got large areas of quite badly soiled carpet, but a bit OTT for smaller areas of everyday cleaning IMO. The machines are quite bulky too, so it really helps if you've got as much furniture as you can cleared out of the way ready, before you actually hire the thing.

There is a carpet cleaner sold by boat chandlers which really works very well,I am sorry I have forgoteen the name. Mrs Leslie has put it somewhere where i can't find it.
