This belongs to a new customer, who wondered why his engine was noisy..

Correct valves, but the wrong springs and caps. The caps are from an Evo engine! The shims don't fit, and were just rattling around in there..

That's what it should have had.

And, these two pistons came out of the same engine!

Apparently the engine was built by a "specialist"

MRSIMPSON 17 May 2011 08:21 AM

Makes my blood boil! How could another human being build and engine like that for someone?

Name and shame, it has to be done.

CREWJ 17 May 2011 08:21 AM

Wow, some cowboys out there!

I agree these people need to be known.

pjarvis6666 17 May 2011 08:25 AM

Im far from an engine expert. but even i can tell the parts dont match :cuckoo:

f1_fan 17 May 2011 08:31 AM

Alan Jeffery 17 May 2011 09:20 AM

I can't say who did that, as there's court action going on, but it isn't from any business who frequents SN!

sweden 17 May 2011 09:29 AM

was going to say that has to be a legal case, and from a supposed specialist as well :cuckoo:

Evolution Stu 17 May 2011 09:46 AM

Wow... workmanship like this boils my piss. Its hard enough keeping a good name in our trade without assholes like this tarnishing us all at every opportunity!

SirFozzalot 17 May 2011 10:02 AM

 :nono:

JohnD 17 May 2011 10:36 AM

What this tells me is what I already knew - most engines will run given the most dire of environments!!

Engines haven't changed much for 100 years .... not the basic running part. The fueling and electronics have changed beyond all comparison - but the basic building blocks are pretty simple and reliable!

Does anyone remember 'Cades Garage' in Car Mechanics ... through the 1970's? I used to really enjoy reading about the garage owners exploits and customers.
