Hard drive recovery tools?
Something happened to the hdd in my desktop computer - it was saying it couldn't find the windows/system directory on startup. I couldn't recover it with the XP installation disc, so I've reinstalled XP onto the slave drive and made the slave the primary drive.
Now it's running again, when I try to access the old main drive, it seems to think it needs to be formatted. Are there any hdd recovery tools I can use to see what's happened to the hdd, and hopefully recover a couple of folders of photos? The drive is a Samsung and it's only a couple of years old. Thanks |

Thanks for the links - I'll bookmark them for later.
Errr, I've sorted it - got the jumpers mixed up on the discs  Now that I've backed up my files off the problem drive, time to see if I can sort XP on this drive or if it's another fresh install. Is there anyway to rollback the corrupted version of XP somehow without going through windows itself? |
