Erdinger Lager
A friend introduced me to this a couple of weeks ago, i must say its now my favourite lager .. really nice & no bitter to it at all.
The club we were in had it on Draught @ £4.80 a pint, i have managed to trace 500ml bottles of it & a few wannabee's in my pub have started drinking it as well. ;) :D Anyone tried it ? |
Tried it in Germany, and they sell it in Tescos and Sainburys for about 1.59 each.
...so hardly a secret Weissbier ;) Still, yes I've tried it, and I'd not want more than 4 in any sitting. |
I enjoy drinking it & its better than Leffe. Trying to get wholesales to get it at a decent price is hard.

Hoegaarden for me ...
http://www.robertofaria.com/partofmy...hoegaarden.jpg Wierdly cheaper if you buy 4 * 330ml (around £4) than the 750ml bottles (£2.50 on offer). Still expensive, although I thankfully just came home from a work-trip to France via Eurotunnel and they had a special offer of buy 2 get 1 free on the 12 * 250ml bottles. Amazing how much fits in the back of a Focus ST :) Steve |

I can't drink cloudy stuff. It makes me want to barf - psychological I know, but in my head beer should be clear.

I like the taste of Hoegaarden but can't drink more than a couple without feeling a bit bloated/full.
These days I'm drinking less and less beer and go straight for the hard stuff! |

Bloody hell.... Something we agree on !! I do still enjoy a lager as a first beer freshener now and again, but loving the ale nowadays. Oh and the 750cl Leffe blonde are a nice drink,as are Henry Westons vintage reserve cider http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/ebay3001.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...unset001-1.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/ebay3018.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/ebay3007.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...n/ebay3015.jpg Or when the summertime comes,a sit in the rear garden and take in a nice beer and a good view!!! http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...newpics022.jpg |
Crabbies is my tipple of choice at the moment, with a slice of lemon, or sometimes lime.

I used to like German draught stuff. The light beer was best to me.

It's probably the only reason to go in to Wetherspoons. £2.35 for a 500ml bottle.

Like Erdinger - it's a bit different.
Fave beer is Caledonian IPA though. |

Erdinger lager????
We have Erdinger Weißbier here and Erdinger Kristallweizen but not heard of Erdinger Lager. It must be specific for export to the lager drinkers of England. |

No but i support them :lol1: |
Went for a meal at Cameron House last night and i tried as the waiter said a "local" lager....
http://www.scottishfood.com/i/Schieh...aviestoun.html Must say, i was really impressed with it. Didn't have a bad after-taste compared to some.....not sure it was worth £5.95 a pint though. :( |
